My colleague chose Snack Bar as a place to have a business dinner. I didn't know anything about the history of the restaurant or the associated "hype" regarding the food. First, from the parking lot view the restaurant looks like nothing special or fancy...just some "joint" in a strip mall.The interior, again nothing fancy...It's only when you open the limited menu that provides a glimpse of the specialness of Snack Bar.We tried small plates as well as large plates and everything was awesome. My colleague is French, and his standard for "French Onion Soup" is really high. He said to me that it's among the best he's ever had...that's high praise! For me it was great!Our server and the entire team were very attentive. Plates arrive quickly and empty plates disappeared as quickly.The star of SnackBar is the food!! Its fancy high end food disguised in a reachable, and unintimidating facade...make no mistake about it, this is the fanciest restaurant in Oxford, perhaps all of MS!

We had a wonderful dining experience at Snackbar. Our briny Florida oysters were SO delicious. We also enjoyed the wonderful French Onion Soup, Snack Burger, and cocktails. Our server was delightful, attentive, and helpful. We look forward to returning to Snackbar soon!

Limited recommendation. Nice setting but the food was only okay - especially considering the hype around this restaurant and its (2019) award winning chef. My hanger steak was over cooked but otherwise on par for a mid-range fast casual restaurant rather than fine dining. The accompanying fries had so much rosemary on them that it left a burning sensation in my mouth. Our server was professional, friendly, attentive and courteous but I think that the kitchen and bar staff were slow to fill our orders. The drinks were a little slow and we had to wait quite a while for our food order.

On a recent visit we had the Saturday special: grouper in a coconut curry sauce. The dish was tasty but cried out for a complementary starch and at $42, this was Manhattan pricing for a restaurant in a strip mall in North Mississippi.

The food was top notch as always. Fresh ingredients really make a difference. Sat at the bar and got to watch pros at work while never having to initiate. I've always loved the feel of a place that has been there forever but stays updated. Also, was economical which was refreshing.
