Amazing food, sweet BBQ and cheese... can't go wrong. Very friendly and so accommodating for my food allergy. Loved it and would drive out of my way to find it. I got the Smashville Nachos and I cant get enough

Wowzers! I am absolutely surprised and flabbergasted. While I love me some food truck, I will admit that I had low expectations for a BBQ / smoked "stuff" food truck. I mean it isn't like the slow cooker is anywhere nearby or that they've got room for even a green egg up in the truck. We caught Smoke Et Al outside Yazoo Taproom on a recent Friday night (they're Friday night regulars outside Yazoo or Jackalope - which are barely a block from each other). The main menu consists of 1/3 rack of dry rubbed smoked ribs, smoked pork "ham" burger sandwich, brisket tacos (and for the gluten-free among us they have corn tortillas in addition to the normal flour stuff), and a smoked dry rubbed chicken. As the name suggests everything is smoked.... that includes the veggies that go on each of the mains and includes the side dishes. The beans and the "potato salad" both are the two sides I can recall from memory and both were smoked. So, what'd we have? Well, my taste buds were tantalized by the brisket tacos. Each flavorful smoky bite bathed my mouth in awesome. The brisket was moist and tender as it should be, and the tomatoes (which I would usual just "say no" too) were delightful because of their smoked nature. You could taste a hint of the soft goat cheese and cilantro used as toppings for the tacos. Chin dripping in delicious, I turned to the side of beans that I had chosen as my side with my two tacos. Holy magic beans, Jack, were they ever smoky, onion-y, and fulfilling. Greatly enjoyed by my tummy. My companion also had the aforementioned brisket tacos and also on corn tacos. Her chosen side was the potato salad - which is not what you would expect. Instead it is fresh cut potatoes, smoked until soft like little wedges, and accompanied by applewood smoked bacon bits and onions. Since, I tried 'em, I'll comment for my wife. YES! That's all you need to know.I highly recommend trying out this food truck. I hear they'll be between 3rd and 4th on Broadway during New Year's Eve this year. Give them a whirl.

Had food from their food truck at a conference back in September. Had the Brisket Taco and Mac'n Cheese. It wasn't bad by any means, but it didn't impress me either. I was hoping for more in terms of flavor in the brisket. Sigh.

I've been back to this truck a a few times and I am ready to proclaim this the best pulled pork sandwich I have had in Nashville. Truth be told I would prefer it with just a bit more smokey flavor but I like my smoked meats to taste like a barn fire. So much so that I am sure others would think it is too smokey so having said that I think they have found the perfect balance here. What really makes this sandwich shine is the sum of all the parts - the bun, red cabbage, giant pile of pulled pork, and the sprinkled seasoning not only looks beautiful but tastes triumphant. It really is a thing of beauty and I almost wanted to stare at it longingly for a great length of time before ruining its appearance. As for the sides. the potato salad was alright but not remarkable. The real star though is the fried okra and 'bama white sauce. The first time I saw it on the chalkboard menu I thought it said 'bomb white sauce. In reality bomb white sauce might be a more apt name because it was really, really, really good. The okra itself left just as much of an impression - long, whole okra (not sliced) with a nice breading and huge salt granules. It was quite delectable. So far, I think this is in the running with Riffs as the best food truck in Nashville.

I had heard a lot about Smoke Et Al but every time I saw the truck, it was at a food truck event and I was lured by another delicious Nashville Food Truck offering. Not anymore. On Thursday they were at Centennial and having been in Philadelphia for a week, I was appreciating the weather. So I went over and got a Shoulder Sammy and potato salad. It was delicious. The meat was perfectly seasoned. I would venture to say its the best all around BBQ I have had since moving to Nashville. The bun was grilled and crispy. The sandwich was juicy but not so much that I couldn't pick it up and eat it. I had to eat it over the plate so I didn't bring any BBQ goodness back to work with me on my shirt. It was the perfect BBQ sandwich. I'm usually not a fan of vinegar based sales, but the one that topped the sandwich was delicious. And it was pretty to boot. The purple slaw made the sandwich look even more appetizing and added a nice tang and crunch to the sandwich. Potato salad to me is like meatloaf, everyone seems to like their mother's best. I am no exception. That's why I was pleasantly surprised when I took a bite of their potato salad and loved it. It was really creamy and flavorful. I will be searching out Smoke Et Al in the future for more deliciousness,

I'm leaning more for a 3.5 here, but let's go for the full 4.Admittedly, I was/am still coming off my high that I received from the Biscuit Love truck 3 days prior to my Smoke Et Al experience, so I believe this may have tainted both my taste buds and my otherwise very open minded reviewingness. Anywho, I got the Fiddlers Biscuit, as the "sour cream & sage biscuits" called out to me. It has smoked chicken, local green onions, and Tennessee wildflower honey, and I had the potato salad for the side. The biscuits were quite good...very dense, definitely need a drink with those, but they're tasty. I actually forgot about the honey until I discovered the bottom biscuit was soaked in something amazing tasting. WOW that honey was incred!! The chicken & potato salad were fine, but not spectacular. Overall, it was good, and while the truck wouldn't be my first choice to stop at, I wouldn't shut it out.

Visited them during the "Brew at the Zoo" event. In order to avoid FOMO, I opted for the BBQ plate to be able to sample a few of the sides. A++ mac 'n'cheese with breadcrumbs and green onion topping. Very strong showing for a food truck. Potato salad was okay and the BBQ sauce had a tasty amount of tang. Good portion of brisket to go with it.Service was a little on the slow side (even for a food truck), but the quality of the food lessened the staying power of any negative opinions.

After reading the reviews about the Fiddler's Biscuits, I HAD to seek this truck out and try it for myself. For $8 you get (2) sour cream-sage biscuits filled with shredded smoked chicken, drizzled with Tennessee wildflower honey and topped with local green onions - OMG! Yes, it was that good! Since my hubby was with me, he ordered the Hot Brisket Sammy - a smoked beef brisket sandwich topped with spicy giardeniere, smoked peppers, herbs on a toasted hoagie roll - CRAZY GOOD!!All of their entrees come with a side...I tried the slaw and he tried the fried pickled okra. Both were excellent and complimented the meals perfectly. Another Nashville original food truck that knows how to "throw down"!
