Sizzlin Skillet

The service was very nice. The food was home style cooking. The meatloaf was delicious, as was the fried chicken. There were other choices of meat, too. The vegetables were cabbage, green beans, purple hull peas, boiled okra and other southern favorites. The ambience was a bit on the rough side, but the food made up for it.

This meat and there is SO delicious. I dream of the lima beans. And the greens. And the banana pudding, For $10-15, you get a generous serving of protein, two vegetables, and a bread options. You can also add in a dessert for $3.Selections change by day, but you can usually choose from several types of beans, greens, cabbage, and baked chicken. The food is fabulous, tastes like grandma made it- well seasoned, cooked to perfection, served hot. The butter roll cake is particularly good and a pair for an afternoon coffee.The folks at sizzling skillet are super nice- very friendly with customers, and prompt with table service. They were busy the two weekdays that I went, but there are always tables available if you dine in. KID TIP- Sizzlin Skillet offers a kids menu option with grilled cheese and other kids favorites. The restaurant has booth options, and is very chill to bring the whole family.

If the service doesn't get you to stay then the food absolutely will. Every. Single. Bite. Is seasoned. The chicken is the juiciest in the state. No tri-state area. They are switching up menu items from day to day but they have turkey necks, greens, beans, cornbread, meatloaf, fried chicken, bbq chicken, baked chicken, Salisbury steak, chicken and dressing, I can't even name it all. We tried the catfish, patty melt, cheeseburger, fried chicken and a ton of sides tonight. The burgers were thick and really well seasoned. If you are looking for a home cooked meal, this is it. They are open til 7 PM nearly every night and they took the time to explain the menu and options. She even special made burgers for the little ones. Kept the drinks full and our plates were so full we had four boxes of leftovers. Highly recommend!!!

Always great food and smiling faces. The fried chicken and Lima beans were seasoned perfectly.

Buffet style, average cafeteria food. Ready made meats and vegetables. Good service. Good for a quick meal to go. Loud music. Busy atmosphere.

Traveling all day was looking for a local Mom & Pop restaurant. We saw the list of restaurants and saw SIZZLIN SKILLET. We were not disappointed friendly staff welcomed us coming in like family. I ordered from the food bar the chicken was the boom. The sweet potatoes mash potatoes and the gravy like my mom's. The sweet cornbread was over the top. My partner ordered the pork chops which he was impressed an acknowledge the cook. If you want to experience home cooking you will not be disappointed. This is the second couple from California. He loved the apple pie too.

Wonderful food and great service. The current location is pleasant but a little cramped. However, they will soon be relocating to a larger location on Glenn Bailey near Missouri Street. All in all, a great experience that we will be coming back for.

We were driving home to TN and stopped for a leisurely lunch. The food was delicious; the service was top-notch customer friendly. We enjoyed our meal & recommend you stop here to experience the deliciousness !!!
