Short Store Eatery

Visited the Short Store eatery today.. What a treat! It's in back of "Whatever". A Mom and daughter bistro type of restaurant that feels friendly, laid back and open. It's airy attitude and decor reminds me of "Friends". And the food! My son ordered a cheese pizza with two toppings and I had the vegetable soup. The pizza rivals Papa Dicks. It's that good.. The soup is full of veggies and is made with a vegetable broth. The menu is surprisingly extensive and priced well. They have puzzles and games you can play while you're waiting for your order. I recommend this eatery and hope others will have the same, friendly and inviting experience. Great food, ambience to spare and friendly owners happy to serve with really great food. We'll probably go there at least once a week for lunch. Five Stars!

I discovered this place on Yelp and since we were going to be in the area for our nephew's football game, I suggested that we all (6 of us) stop here for dinner before the game. The yelp reviews did not disappoint. This is one of the best places I've ever been for soup and sandwiches. Everyone was raving about it and we even bought 2 loaves of bread (garlic cheese and the apple something) to take with us.... We live near Chicago, one of the biggest cities in the country, and I gotta say that the bread at this little place was better than most of the breads we get here! Too bad it's so far away from... well... everything! But worth the drive if you're within an hour or so.

The food is amazing. Our favorites are the salads. But the pizza and sandwiches are also great. Service is impeccable. Love Short's!
