I was extremely hesitant to go to Shogun because they have some bad reviews that have brought their score down. However, sometimes you have to see for yourself. It's really what you expect from a Japanese restaurant, loud chefs trying to win a smile and great food smell as you walk in the door. The wife and I ordered the shrimp tempura, and I got the scallops dish. One thing I was not aware of, they give you lo mein noodles and fried rice with you veggies and main. The food had good flavor, and our chef, who seemed fairly new, was really good at the grill. If I could change one thing, I would use a lighter batter on the tempura. It was very good but I am a fan of the lighter batter. For a place that has a few bad reviews, they seem to be doing well for business. IMO, there are some that like to complain. I would honestly read the reviews and then go try yourself. Like me, you might be surprised!

I didn't check the reviews and I'm glad I didn't. I ended up here because the place across the street changed completely. At first I was skeptical, then realized we were there shortly after 4 pm. I was thinking I'd just get some sushi with the kid and go home.To my surprise, there was no sushi...just hibachi. Can we say upgrade I've been meaning to get to a place, but hadn't committed. When I open the menu, I see plum wine It was perfect for my tastebuds. If I'm out, I'm looking for an experience I won't have at home & this place delivered! I laughed, I ate, and I neutralized some stress from the work week. Thanks for a wonderful dining experience.

It was good. I had spicy tuna rolls. They were freshly made. Right in front of us. They are kinda like Benihana's in Portland

Meh! Dinner was ok. The only sauce they serve is some kindof rendition of yum yum sauce. Chef maybe had a couple of sakes before cooking. My main problem is soon as the chef was done and we're all enjoying our food, someone comes and starts scrubbing the grill. Steam rolling everywhere and sloshing liquid on our fellow diners plates. Not cool! Server was rude as well. Won't be back! Lucky I tipped at all. $160 would have been better spent at a sports bar with a few beers, dinner and shots for 6. Won't be back. Ohhh and every surface is sticky. Shoes literally sticking to the floor throughout the restaurant. Consumer beware.

I really use to love this place, but I just can't bring myself to bring my family here and spend as much as we do to only be treated poorly by the server. She is extremely rude not only her attitude but she even had the audacity to pull a salad bowl out of my hand. She took our soups away without asking if we were done and they were still full. It was just one thing after another with her. On another visit I went to go and purchase just the miso soup for my kiddos since it's their favorite. (Not the first time I have purchase the soup Togo) The same rude woman tells me that the soup the size of a 8oz cup is $8.95 and a small 3oz is $5. I told her that I had purchased the soup just a week ago and only paid $5 for the 8oz. She looked and me and rudely told me that was a mistake and turned and walked away. With that said I walked out. I won't be back and I most certainly will discourage friends and family to not go here as well.

Unimpressive. Should have paid attention to the reviews. Bright spot - ladies at the front desk were very kind and attentive. Not bright spot: - order quoted at 25/30 mins and took 48. - was told they aren't supposed to take a fried rice with shrimp order during busy times. I showed up at 7 people were in the restaurant. - ordered a kids shrimp hibachi - gave us a shrimp and chix. Chix was overcooked - paid $3 up charge for steak. Check out the pic. Really? - ordered no veg and extra fried rice. They are charged me $2 per fried rice. So $8 for two meals with fried rice. Food just wasn't very good. $50 for a kids meal and adult meal. Blah

One of the most disgusting meals I've ever eaten. Do not waste your money. I'd rather eat egg rolls from a gas station.

If I could give this location 0 stars, I would. My experience was nothing short of awful- no food OR drinks for over an hour and then the guy, whom I assume is the owner, wanted to argue. He called us impatient and that we just needed to sit back down and eat. All while continuing to raise his voice in the lobby, in front of other guests. In addition, a person that was in our party ordered a specialty beverage and when they finally did receive it, it was warm and absolutely disgusting. We had to ask 3 times for it, prior. Each time we had to go out of our way to find someone, we were never checked in on- for an hour. Bottom line, If you want non-argumentative service and an enjoyable experience, drive further away to one that will give better service. Any other time we've gone to the next closest location and never had any issues. Stay away from the one in Clarksville, Tn. Horrible.
