In a strip mall, unassuming and barely noticeable The place is clean and well kept and there is relaxing Ethio Jazz playing in the background. The injera tastes authentic. The chicken steak was not extremely different from the chicken steak you'd expect in non-Ethiopian places but some of the spices in the green lentils etc were great and reminded me of my favorites Ethiopian places in bigger cities I guess what I'd say is that if you want a super authentic ethio dish consider something other than the chicken steak option Service was prompt and friendly Only one other Ethiopian family was there when I visited Lunch may not e super busy

Im not sure about the food. I ordered Togo the bread that comes with it is sour. I didn't know what to expect. The food lack flavor. I just didn't enjoy it one bit. Service was ok. The restaurant had a weird smell. Idk maybe this isn't for me.

Can I just say amazing? As in, new favorite place amazing? As in, cravings and want to go back amazing? I loved this. I was craving Ethiopian food and found this place. It used to be another place but the owner confirmed that they had completely changed it (so it wasn't just a name change). The place started out empty but filled as we were eating there. They had coffee out and steaming and they let us try some of it. It was amazing. I hate coffee straight but this was just like oh my god. It was amazing. All we added was sugar and it was great. Now maybe it was a LOT of sugar because we were afraid but next time I'll be trying it without the sugar just to see. I was also surprisingly fond of the tea and would definitely get that again. We got the lamb steak and fish kitfo and I gotta say the fish was the best. I'm not a big fan of lamb but I'm also not fond of tilapia, which is what the fish was, so I wasn't sure how things would go. The lamb still has that aftertaste that I can't seem to avoid outside of gyros, so I wouldn't get it again, but it wasn't bad. The fish though was amazing! I still can't believe it was tilapia because all the other tilapia I've had I've hated. This was just beautifully spiced and delightful. I will definitely get that again!! Also, I just love the way the food is served. It's such a fun communal thing. We ended up asking for forks to help us but otherwise we mostly used the bread they brought to scoop food up. It was a fun experience and I really can't wait to go back! Loved:- Drink: Coffee- Fish KitfoLiked: - Drink: Tea- Appetizer: Sambusa Ok: - Lamb Steak

I cannot recommend this place enough. The Njera (pancake looking bread) is fresh and delicious. My favorite is always the vegetarian options but the meat items are good too. The place is lovely and unique. Please be aware that the custom is to serve everyone's plates in the same dish, However this time they did ask us if we wanted it separate, and of course the respectful and culture aprópiate thing to do is to keep it as it's traditionally served, snd eat together. I had their freshly homemade coffee, was very yummy, no need for cream.

Fabulous food and the owner?/server could not have been more gracious. I had the vegetarian platter & my husband had the chicken. The atmosphere is extremely plain and simple, not what I would call date night worthy, but the food will bring us back. Maybe just for lunch...

My coworkers and I decided that we're going to explore Memphis restaurants together. When Ethiopian was suggested, we knew that we'd end up here. Nestled in a shopping strip location in Cordova, the staff was happily accommodating when I called to reserve a table for ten. The aroma of hot tea met up as soon as we walked in the door, and the staff was very pleasant. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was great. It did take a bit for our food to arrive, but there was only one server, and we did have a party of ten. All and all, if you're looking to excite your tastebuds, you should stop by.

Lamb Wet was super delicious! So much spice & flavor to the meat. The vegetables fit the meal perfectly and was just what was needed along with their signature bread that you can't get anywhere other than an Ethiopian restaurant. Definitely will be back!!

One of the best restaurants in memphis. Seriously. 10/10 food and 10/10 service. The lady who works here is very pleasant to be around and very sweet. This is one of my favorite places to eat.
