3.5 - 4This version of the Santa Fe diner is a rework of the old "Pops Santa Fe Diner" and apparently has changed hands 3 times recently. In that regard, the fine folks who are operating this establishment now are just getting started and, as a result, there are bound to be a few hiccups and a bit of a learning curve. (No printed menus ...but daily offerings are clearly hand-written on big dry-erase board and usually posted on Facebook. Or....just ask.) Breakfast is served from opening (7:00 am) 'till 11:00 when lunch menu starts. (We arrived just before 11 am....so close to mid change-over.)Staff: both "front of house" wait staff and kitchen are extremely courteous, welcoming, congenial, and friendly. Food: Mixed reviews from our group of 3 diners. (But we all agreed, generous portions were served.)--Scrambled eggs were way too greasy and not scrambled well. Dry white or wheat bread was fine. Jelly and butter on the table.--Side of baked apples were delicious, sweet and "cinnamony." All three of use liked these the best.--Meatloaf (big, thick ol' slice), baked throughly and then regrilled to create a bit of a crust. (I loved it!)--Scalloped potatoes were cooked well and fork-tender but the sauce was heavy handed (with the flour thickening) and the cheddar cheese bits were not melted. I loved the flavor; a second person in our group did not.--Hush puppies were larger than one bit and nicely fried. Sadly, not much flavor....so just basic cornmeal.Desserts looked wonderful - Pecan, Chocolate Chess, Cherry Cheesecake, Banana Pudding, and Peach Cobbler - all homemade. (Actually, the cherry looked like regular cherry to me.) No room for dessert this trip but next time I'll try.Drinks: water, canned soda, regular coffee and maybe a few others....just not sure.We saw other diners seemed to enjoy the hearty vegetable soup, the hamburger steak smothered in onions, and today's other special: fried catfish. (Looked golden brown and inviting.)All-in-all worth another visit and perhaps a trip during a different hour of the day. PS: Also available fresh farm eggs and local honey!

Lots of food for a working man's price. This is the type of place where you sip on coffee and read a newspaper.

My wife and I were out riding the backroads and saw this dinner. So we figured we would stop after mall some of the best food we have experienced comes from finding places of the beaten track. This place was a hidden gem, for sure.. the food was fresh and made to order. The service was friendly with a smile. Took some time while waiting for the wife to talk to the nice young lady from Ohio that owns the place and you could tell she took pride in the place and truly appreciated all that stopped in to enjoy her cafe.. Would recommend the stop to anyone out enjoying Tennessee backroads. We will definitely return for lunch.

What a charming place in the country. New to the area and found this local gem. The menu is simple and it's a no frills diner. But the food was delicious. If you want bacon and eggs at a working man's price, come here. Very homemade. The gals there are very down to earth and served us promptly.

Service is less than desirable, so there's 20 min wait for a freakin burger, it appears the waitress who sat on her tail, and talked to the locals while some guest never got an order in. Then she realizes it, then gives them the burger that I order! I asked a local is this place slow, he said ah man everything is slow in Santa Fa so drive 10 mins down the road and get better service

Great hamburgers and fresh cut fries! Catfish on Friday, smoked ribs on Sat and T-bones everyday, finish with some peanut butter pie and a cup of coffee and you're good to go. Always service with a smile, country charm and a "y'all come back now..." :)*Note, new owners and new ways as of Jan 1, 2020, so the one negative review does not apply...
