Sammy’s Gormet Deli

This place is awesome and their gyros over rice dish is delicious. They also offer shakes (got an amazing berry one) as well as ice cream and their selection of beverages is amazing - even got a cherry flavored Sprite and strawberry Mexican drink, which I've never seen before. Service was super prompt and the interior ambience is spacious and cool. Highly recommended if you are in Oxford!

We tried Sammy's today for the first time and were blown away! The employees were so friendly and helpful. I got the Philly cheese steak and seasoned fries and they were both AMAZING! My hubby got the gyro and loved it! 10/10 for the food and service for sure!

Went for lunch on Friday. They were pretty busy, so check out service was quick but the food took a little while. I ordered the gyro on rice with seasoned fries. The gyro meat was tender but I usually like my gyro meat a little more seasoned; this was pretty mild. The rice was delicious, as was the sauce. The seasoning on the seasoned fries was also pretty mild, I ended up putting pepper on it. The seating was comfortable and the restaurant was clean and inviting. Drinks are bottles and cans only. Overall, a good Oxford addition and one I will be back to!

This is a hidden gem in Oxford. So many overpriced and overrated places in Oxford but it is nice to see a Mom and Pop operation that cares about flavor and having an affordable meal for the locals and students. The staff couldn't be any friendlier either. Great spot.

Sammy's Gourmet Deli & Gyro Grill is a new Oxford restaurant serving Mediterranean Cuisine with a Yemeni touch on Jackson Avenue East between the Oxford Square and the OleMiss Campus.Sammy's is an excellent deli and grill offering a broad assortment of cold-cuts, meats and cheeses on display for made-to-order sandwiches and wraps. I have eaten there over a dozen times so far because I did not find out they were open until Feb. 4th. I have personally tried many of the following items and will attest to the fresh ingredients, quality preparation, and delicious appearance of the food which is exceeded only by their wonderful taste and flavors. The gyros, Philly cheesesteaks, pastrami and other made-to-order burgers and sandwiches can be accompanied with fries, chips, and others along with fresh lettuce, tomatoes, onions, peppers, jalapeños for dressings. Sammy's gyros deserve their very own paragraph. Sammy's grill prepares the very best shawarma (meat cooked on a tall, rotisserie spit) that I know about within driving distance. It is moist, flavorful, tender and thoroughly infused by the rotisserie grilling. Served on a plate of rice or, as is my preference, wrapped in flatbread, pita or khubz mulawah with fresh lettuce, tomatoes, onions, jalapeños, and a creamy, garlicky, white, tasty tzatziki-like yogurt or buttermilk sauce. YUMMMMY!Chef's prepared lentil soup is another dish that is available along with a wide assortment of drinks offered for refreshment. And, for dessert you can choose from many flavors of ice cream in cones, cups or in delicious smoothies. Finally, Sammy and his wife make a homemade, exotic, delicious, decadent, delightful dessert with nuts, butter, honey, and spices on many layers of thin, phyllo bread - BAKLAVA!!! This dessert is not to be missed and Sammy runs out very quickly so get it while you can. We met the owner, Sammy, who is a very cordial, welcoming and generous man. Several family members work with him in his business. He and his very helpful staff work hard to make sure customers are welcomed, served and are satisfied with their dining-in (at one of several available tables) or a neatly-packaged takeout experience.

I ordered the Philly cheesesteak, and my wife and daughter ordered the chicken Philly. Both were delicious and the service was excellent!

Be prepared to wait a long time for your food to come out. Was told can't have fries today because the grease was old even though people in front of me got fries.

We went by and had amazing lunch. I had the Philly cheesesteak. I had it with french fries and a mango smoothie. I would totally order this again.

Sammys is becoming my new favorite place. Ive never had my order messed up, its always been perfect. Depending on how many people are there, it could take some time but usually they are very fast. Philly steak ...my fav
