Runway Grill

We landed and asked our rental car attendant to recommend some good food and they did not disappoint. I ordered the cat fish filets and the ribs tips and potato salad and fries okra because why not! Everything was seasoned and delicious.

I love this place, good food good people create a happy environment I recommend that you try the catfish plate, and there smoke wings , but you will have to call in your order ahead of time because they stay busy

Runway Grill recently took over the Lou Jacks Diner location @ 3183 Winchester Rd.I've had several coworkers rave about the food so I had high expectations. The building is old but they've spruced it up with paint and model airplane sculptures. They have a spacious dining area and a flat screen TV.Had the turkey leg combo (channeled my inner Flintstones moves to eat it), macaroni and cheese, turnip greens and a roll. All of it was delicious. Not one complaint on the taste. I look forward to trying out the wings and chicken on a stick soon. They have grilled pork chops too.Great first impression for me. I'll be back.

I love this place. It is my last stop before heading to the airport. The food is fresh and delicious.

It's good food and good value. Large portions as well. I ordered wings as hot as they could get them with Mac and cheese and a drink for like $6. I hate leaving hungry so I ordered another side of red beans and rice. All with tax for like $10. Well I shouldn't have ordered another side because they give you a lot of food here. A side weighs like half a pound where other places put it in a ketchup dish. Food was hot and filling and pretty damned good. Counter order. Counter pickup. Clean your table kind of place. To be extremely nit picky, although the wings here being smoked are much better than fried wings, they were cooked too long. Either that or they were overcooked when reheated. 170-180* is when they should come off. They failed to get the wings hot with sauce. If you like em hot, this ain't for you. Mac and cheese while pretty good, is a bit bland. Red beans and rice are more southern style and nothing like Cajun. The roll was out of a bag. Like I said, these are my nit picky opinions. Still a good meal and definitely worth the price and 4 stars.

Best smoked wings I've ever had! Also the potato salad and beans were perfect! I am salivating thinking about this meal all over again. If I could eat this everyday I would!!!

I met a friend for a quick lunch here. It was a surprise to me to find this place, since I've lived in the Memphis area for decades. It's kind of out of the way, but it was a good suggestion. We're talking fast food choices, some cooked vegetables, cheese and meat plates and such. Coffee, water, soft drinks--your pick.The women on the counter and preparing the food were very friendly and responsive. Portions are ample. And the price was very modest. I'd pick this place over the next chicken joint or chain fast food place any day of the week. It's just that I have to have a reason to be out that way.

Let me just say -- the chicken wings are SO good; I get them with fried okra every time I'm in town. (I had them yesterday. )The CATFISH I just had though?! Delicious. I got catfish filets (3) ..and apparently, they're fried when you order them. So good. They were crisp and well-seasoned without being salty.Mr. Randy's daughter thanks you again, Runway Grill.

By far, the worst bbq in Memphis--right next to A & R. 1 star because the slaw and Hawaiian roll from Sam's was decent. The rib tips were super dried with seasoning on them, baked beans (the absolute worse baked beans ever, had) tasted like water, and bbq sauce came straight from a bottle--a Memphis bbq disgrace.

Great food very nice service great Smoked Chicken Wings and chicken on a stick, but I love my rib, tip plate and whole slab of ribs
