Rick's Barbecue - Waynesboro

I was confused when I walked in this place. Wasn't sure if it would be fast food or sit down. But it was counter service. The dining room was unremarkable, but notably clean. (I was very late for lunch, but too early for dinner.) The young ladies working the counter were polite and helpful. I'm not used to eating my BBQ in a wrap, but it was really good! The pork had good flavor and texture. Not fatty or stringy. I could actually see the pink smoke ring. I did not expect this quality near in a fast food place. The BBQ beans could be canned, but they were good. Because I didn't know what to expect, I took another chance by going with the Alabama wrap, with the Bama white sauce on the side and a mustard based slaw in the wrap. It was great. And I am glad they served the sauce on the side, so I could see the meat first, instead of drowning it in cheap sauce to cover it up.

Love the fruit tea! Everyone is always very friendly at all locations & the bbq is consistently good as well as the sauce. Can't miss here!!

Their chicken sandwich feels like it weighs a half of a pound. Their drive through was very fast at 5:30 pm their mild BBQ sauce is delicious

Excellent pork sandwich. Comes with mayo, pickle and vinegar slaw. I had it as it comes and it was very, very good. Meat was perfect. I was hesitant on the combination of the slaw, mayo and pickle but glad I had it. I would order like that again. Baked beans were very good also. Mild and tasty with bits of pulled pork in them. The cashier suggested the fruit tea and that was also a good choice! The place is very clean - including the restroom - and the employees are all very friendly. Overall great experience.

Took a little detour off of Natchez Trace Parkway to stop here. Being from Texas, we were not familiar with some of the menu items. We had the pulled pork sandwiches which had Mayo and vinegar slaw- outstanding! The meat was tender and not overly smoked. Baked potato salad and beans were our sides- both tasty. Fruit tea was new to us , so we also had that- really good! Clean restaurant, clean restrooms, and super friendly and helpful staff.

Good food as long as you can get them to make you decent portions, they served us the tiniest little damn chicken tenders there ever was!

Not sure why the last review seemed like a vendetta against the place. I'm mean it's not franklin's in Austin but the food is good, service quick, staff is exceptionally accommodating & it's well kept. Pulled pork was good as well as the beef; sides above average too. For a small town bbq joint I say 4.5 stars. Perhaps Angie H. owns or invested in a local competitor or something. I was pleased.

Amazing food and service! Carly was the manager and she and her staff made stops by our table to check on us without being intrusive. I had the BBQ chicken sandwich which was tender, juicy and delicious! My husband had the slaw dogs and the baked potato salad. BEST potato salad EVER! Stop by and have a great meal.

I was passing through around 10:20 am one day and was starving. The only lunch place that was open was Subway, and I was desperately trying to avoid that. Rick's had good reviews (but only 10 reviews) and the grounds looked immaculate so I waited for them to open in the adjacent parking lot for 40 minutes. I was the very first customer that day.The pulled chicken sandwich was dry as a bone. The fries, which were hot and fresh, had a foul taste...as if the grease it was cooked in was rancid or stale. After one bite of the sandwich and fries each, they went straight in the trash and I then reluctantly went to Subway.Rick's staff was also friendly but the food was bad. I would not eat there a second time.

First thing that comes to mind is WOW! Food was awesome, service was excellent, ambiance was chill, and we ordered to-go! This joint knows what bbq is and should be, just the right amount of smoke and the sides were fresh and overall spectacular!! Customer service was top notch!!
