Red Koi Japanese Cuisine

I love this place because it has excellent sushi, which I am always down for, but also good hibachi, great for those friends of mine who don't like sushi. So this is an ideal place for anyone who likes Japanese food. They give a complimentary Spring Roll to each person, which is unique and I've never seen anywhere else.I have had mixed reactions to the steak. Oddly enough, the steak in the hibachi meal didn't taste that great but the steak in the fried rice tasted amazing! I usually dislike steak in all forms so I'm pleased I liked it at all.The Big Apple Roll is the best of the best so newcomers should definitely try that but the most recent time I got it, it was very dry. So I'd probably like it with some spicy mayo next time. The Mummy Roll looks huge but it's mostly the potato on top. It was still pretty yummy. The Yum-Yum Shrimp was good but tasted too much like mayo to me. I like the Bang Bang Shrimp at Bonefish better but my friend liked these better.I gotta say the Hawaiian Fried Rice was bland and disappointing. I was hoping it'd have some fun flavor to it but nope just pineapple. Food was really good and fresh. We had an excellent server, she kept our drinks full and was very attentive. Hibachi was tasty and the sushi was really good. The menu is pretty large and the sushi offering expansive. Laid back and chill.

Loved it! I popped in on a Monday evening around 5:00p and I eas greeted upon entering. I was seated and server came over within 5 minutes with a spring roll. It wasn't hot but okay and overall they are not my choice. I prefer egg rolls and if you know you know. And oddly enough they do not serve eggrolls. My server Anthony was amazing! He offered a helpful suggestion about the specials that include regular and special rolls but did not include premium rolls which I wanted to try. So I ordered the Solo roll and Memphis roll which are special rolls and the Monster roll is a premium roll. They did not disappoint! The solo roll turned out to be my favorite but they are were all fresh and so good and all are spicy which I love. The price point is good as well. The atmosphere is nice also. The sushi is delicious. I got takeout and was pleased. Try the sushi deals. I got 3 rolls for around $18

I had an afternoon flight today so was able to stop by Red Koi and have a couple of rolls. Service is always quick and good. Decor is typical Asian restaurant so nothing special there and the rolls are generally exceptional. I have been stopping here for several years and the only change has been more tables added after Covid.

The best fried rice in Memphis! The food is delicious and comes out super fast. The staff is great and I dine in as well as order take out very frequently. Definitely recommend coming here for some good sushi as well

This has been my favorite sushi spot in Memphis for over 10 years. I still return when I'm in Memphis. Delicious fresh sushi and great service.

Rolls always fresh and they are willing g to build a roll for you. The ladies there always so friendly and grateful for your visit. Even when you order right before close. We use the location by U of M so it's cool to sit down on the go but expect Saki or Beer nor served.

I went a lunchtime very loud not really a peaceful environment. The food was OK not the best. Not the worst. Wouldn't rush back anytime soon.

Food is good but some items are inconsistent. The manager Malle is nice and friendly. One of the owners is nice but the other one is stuffy. The reason for the 1 star is server Patrell is EXTREMELY RUDE and slow with service. He doesn't represent the company in a good way. This is the Poplar location review!
