RAWK'n Grub Main Stage

You know those restaurants you visit for the first time, and they make you realize how badly most places are loafing it? This is that place. Burgers? Sure, but what if they were spiced up with chorizo, or buffalo sauce, or sweet chili sauce? What if the onions were bourbon-smoked and caramelized? What if the bacon was candied? What if the cheese was hand-smoked? What if the bun was savory and seared on the flatiron grill the way it used to be before folks got in such a hurry? What if the potato chips were hand-sliced and seasoned and came out of a fryer instead of a bag? What if burgers weren't the only thing on the menu? And what if all those dishes were designed from the ground-up with take-out in mind? This is that place. Go see for yourself. You'll be back.

Tried the new location on Houston Levee. It's in the gas station at the corner of Walnut Grove. First- super friendly, laid back folks. The one table in the place was full so we had to take ours home. Ordered the Jim Candy burger with upgraded fries. I made the mistake of opening the to-go box to look and sample one of the fries- fatal mistake! After demolishing them in the parking lot because I couldn't bear the thought of not having the crisp/salty/savory deliciousness piping hot - I quickly drove home to scarf down the absolutely phenomenal burger creation! 10/10- will be back!- Collierville (ish) needed this place! Seriously, really good grub that has depth of textures and flavors.

My tongue is still tingly from the tantalizing and mind blowing mixtures on lunch today. The Jim Candy and upgraded fries have ruined anyone else's food for me forever. The hubs proclaimed that the Stevie Chicks sandwich is hands down the best chicken sandwich he's ever had. After too many attempts to get in your walk up counter kitchen, I will count it joy to finally get the opportunity to nosh on your creations! Dude- your place's name can't be improved in how accurate it is to describe the flavor sensation: it's RAWKIN' good!u

I have never gotten Friday night take out from a gas station. Until today. I had heard good things about Rawk N Grub so I decided to take a chance. I went with intention to get tacos for my spouse and a wedge salad for both of us. When I arrived they were out of wedges. I quickly regrouped and went with fried green tomatoes since they were another vegetarian option on their menuMy order was prepared quickly and I was on my way. My spouse and I typically lean towards healthier options so this was a stretch for us.His blackened shrimp tacos came with fries (cringe) but of course he ate them. My fried green tomatoes had a remoulade sauce and blue cheese crumbles. We both thought our dishes were overly seasoned, but, I guess that is an individual preference.I would go back - for the wedge

When we travel to new places we like to use sources like yelp and social media for photos to get a reference of what the food actually looks like. We can better decide if it's for us or not. That's how we found this place. Of course when we drove up and realized it's inside of a gas station convenience store we were a little apprehensive. We decided to go in and take a look and decide from there. We were so glad we decided to give this place a try. The menu is off the charts! If you're a local this is the kind of place you go to over and over and never get tired of because there's always something new to try. We ordered about 5 things and every single item was delicious. My guess is that you probably can't go wrong with anything you order. To top it off the owners are absolute gems. They were kind and helpful with narrowing down menu items for our taste buds. The chef told us they used to be a food truck, as Cali Bay Area natives we are of course obsessed with the food truck craze and the new and inventive way chefs are being creative with food. We will be sure to visit again before heading back to Cali. And it's a good thing we didn't judge this place off of location like some of these other reviewers did! If you're looking for a place where the chef isn't afraid of breaking down boundaries with food and providing good service, this is your place!

I always try and support local businesses, especially restaurants. That being said, I don't like to rate my 901 eateries too harshly, because I KNOW ppl are trying. I found Rawkn' Grub on Facebook and after checking out the pics/reviews on yelp I HAD to be there for dinner that night. The food looked delicious and even more creative. I was all in! I didn't map it out before heading there because I know the highland area pretty well. However they are located more on the Summer Ave side. Obviously I got turned around lol I'll admit once I saw it was off of Summer my excitement waned a bit. I NEVER eat from establishments on Summer, don't ask me why it's just a personal rule. So I make it to the gas station and go in to place my order. There's really not a sign inside so it was about 30 seconds of awkwardly walking back and forth in the store trying to make sure I had the right place. Ok so y'all...I ordered a half order of blue suede fries, half order of philly fries, the fleet wood Mac and cheese, and a bbq slider. I really wanted to love everything plus the lady taking the order was super nice and accommodating. But I just couldn't get into it after seeing the person that took my order and my money fix my food without a hairnet. She had a ponytail pulled back but still. Idk maybe it's just me. The food ended up being fine,definitely not what I expected it to be but I wouldn't say that I didn't like it. Would I give it another try? Probably if I was at an event where they had the food truck. I'll more than likely try a burger.

Food is so bomb and the guy that runs it is super laid back and down to earth I used to eat here when it was in memphis and found him in olive branch and have been rebooked ever since my whole family is addicted

There is no question in my mind that he serves up the best hamburgers I have ever eaten. Hands down without a doubt. Not to mention the fries, tacos, and other amazing things on the menu. Yea, it's in the gas station on the corner of Houston Levee and Walnut Grove. It is very hard to find and you may have to ask the gas station clerk to get them if they are busy but it is without a doubt the best burger you will ever eat. The attention of detail of each meal is stunning. He is a fantastic chef and should be lauded by all. You owe it to yourself to go in and give it a try.

RAWK'n Grub is the perfect place for someone looking for adventurous flavors. We tried Bat Outta Hell meatloaf sandwich and Misgrits shrimp and grits. The meatloaf was perfectly textured and deliciously seasoned, lightly coated and fried till *just* crispy, but still juicy inside. It came with a side of Sweet Thai Chili Coleslaw that left us wishing we ordered an extra side of it. The blackened shrimp and grits were both cooked to perfection, and the combination of tomato chutney and gouda cheese blended brilliantly for a flavor explosion that I've never experienced while eating grits before. We will definitely be back. Amazingly delicious food, perfectly portioned for the price, made with love and served with care... your tastebuds will thank you!
