Was heading to a gathering to celebrate a friend's accomplishment. It was last-minute for all of us, so I didn't have a chance to go out and buy a proper gift. I thought I would have to drive a few miles away to either buy the gift or grab a quick bottle of wine to let her know I was thinking about her. I don't like walking into places empty-handed. Then, I spotted this new wine and spirits store. I found a parking space and was able to walk to her downtown condo with ease. The ladies running the store were very helpful in my effort to pick a nice bottle for the specific occasion. I know my friend likes red wine, but I'm better at picking white wine. The whole transaction took five minutes and I arrived at the celebration on time. This specific area has been a difficult hub to grab a quick bottle of wine to present at a get-together and I am glad to know this location is now available for a last-minute purchase. Woot!

Owner/manager and employees very kind. The whole store was well kept and organized. We are from San Diego- visiting due to a family loss. We were impressed with the layout and options of the liquor store and professionalism of everyone we came in contact with.

Quench is very cool and chic spot-- there's a lot of wines to select from as you go down each row-- And I do like that quench is located across from the Peabody Hotel

I love downtown because I get to walk everywhere. I hated having to drive myself to get a bottle of wine. Thank goodness for Quench! It has a very classy feel, and it's always the same three people working every time, and they are so friendly and helpful. If they are missing something you want, just tell them and they will order it! We asked for Diet Ginger Beer, and they had it the next time we went in, and they still carry it!They also have occasional wine tastings and specials. There prices are very reasonable for being in the heart of downtown Memphis. I love Quench!

Okay, so I am not usually a big fan of liquor stores, generally because I can never find what I want and don't know in advance whether they even CARRY what I am looking for. However, this new addition to the downtown Memphis scene has helpful staff, a smart layout, and a website that allows you to see what they carry in-store. *sigh of relief* I tend to be a plain Jane who never deviates from her go-to wines and liquors, and unfortunately like the wines and liquors that no one ever seems to have. BUT! There is hope for me yet! Quench stocks all of my favorites and they are easy to find...no more spending 30 minutes just looking for the stuff I want. I was able to get two bottles of my favorite wines in less than 10 minutes! Win for me, because I don't like to slow down! The price point is pretty average. If anything, it may be a little less expensive than other stores downtown. It has the advantage of being extremely centrally located, which is great for travelling guests who have had to trolley or walk to other ends of downtown or even out to midtown to get the liquors they want. Great location that scratches a downtown itch. Big fan!

Nice store and selection of wines in mid-town Memphis, TN. But nearby parking is hard to find.

The owner is extremely cheap and a terrible business man. My friend and I initially purchased a bottle of wine, some small bottles of a liqueur and 2 inexpensive wine glasses (we were staying in a hotel nearby). We realized that we didn't need the glasses so we went to exchange them for another bottle of wine. The person working there (not the owner) said she didn't know how to exchange an item and we should return the following day.Trip #3: we went to the store around 4pm but it was locked up tight!!!Trip #4: we returned a few hours later. The owner explained he'd been "in the back". Why was there no sign on the door telling customers when he'd return? We then asked to exchange our $6 glasses. He nastily remarked that nothing could be returned or exchanged. We explained our dilemma and told him we were going buy more items. He was relentless. We walked out, never to return.

Very good selection and decent prices for a big city, but sometimes I like to look and consider my choices without anyone standing over me while I try to make up my mind. Is there such a thing as being too helpful?
