Best Mexican in Memphis! I have lived in Memphis for 25 years and this is the best costal style Mexican restaurant in Memphis! Honestly, it is my favorite Mexican restaurant in Memphis, hands down.Salsa is fresh!Amazing seafood!Unique and delicious menu!Friendly staff!Great drinks!We normally get the ceviche, tacos de pollo o pastor, and shrimp cocktail. The cocktail is OUT OF THIS WORLD!!!I haven't had anything else like it! You won't be disappointed!Their strong suit is seafood, not your traditional TexMex. Try the tomatillo salsa too! No matter what you get, you will be back!

We recently had a large meal for my employer from Playita Mexicana. All of our employees raved about the food. The ordering process was very easy, and the employees were so friendly when bringing the food out to our car. They also thanked us for choosing their restaurant. Portion sizes were excellent, and everything tasted wonderful. I have eaten here for years and will continue to do so in the future.

I used to frequent this place quite a bit I even came with a friend earlier in the year. I ordered a shrimp chimichanga.I took a bite of this thing which the texture seemed to be a big sloppy soft burrito beans dry and rich bland.it was soft . I went up the street tried to take another bite . I couldn't do it. If I wanted a dog gone wet burrito I would have asked for it. Chimichanga are crisp because they are deep fried. Owner tried to tell me it was soft because I had left and went all the way home I told him no I'm just up the street I took a bite before I left. He preceded to tell me this is how they have done it for 23 years... I said I'm sorry I can't eat it can I get something else. He said if I make you something else I'll have to charge u...customer service at its finest.I see this lil place has gotten a big head . Good not near as good as I remember it when I lived in apartments up the street also they charge 3.50% if u use your debit or credit card!!! Lol this place is a joke ! You don't have to ever worry about me coming back. I will go to Orale Tacos and Bakery food is way better and they have excellent customer service .wasted 18.07$ never again.Doesn't deserve 1star..

I got the steak fajitas. The only thing I didn't like was that the tortillas were over heated I mixed the Diablo sauce with the salsa to give it the spice I like. Going back Monday, gonna try the Chile relleno. There is no good Mexican restaurants where I live. It's a 2 hour drive for me, but...

Always love coming here. Food is good, restaurant is always clean, and I have seen the same waitstaff here for a long time. Tells me it must be a decent place to work! My wife and I always get fajitas for two, chicken and beef. We will be back!

Nice place! Very friendly staff / Owner. Food was yummy. Had ceviche and shrimp en chipotle Reasonable $ Free chips and salsa!

No good flavor and they charge you everything extra. not worth itI rather go to an American Louisiana style seafood place.

Comfortable, friendly atmosphere and the food was very good. If I lived closer to Playita, I'd be a regular guest.
