Having visited Petals of a Peony multiple times this year--four or five at this point--I can confidently say it has become one of my favorite dining spots. Each visit has been a delightful culinary adventure, and I am determined to explore the entire menu.On my latest visit, I took a colleague who was experiencing the restaurant for the first time, and I was thrilled to see her enthusiasm for the food. We indulged in a variety of dishes, but the standout staples never fail to impress. The spicy chicken dumplings are an absolute must-try, bursting with flavor and heat. I also always order the Dan Dan noodles; they are simply irresistible and have become a personal favorite.This time, I decided to try the sizzling beef with vegetables, and it did not disappoint. The dish was expertly prepared, featuring tender beef and a medley of vibrant vegetables, including peppers. Surprisingly, even the white mushrooms--usually not my preference--were delicious, adding a unique texture that reminded me of pasta. My friend opted for a beef dish as well, which was beautifully presented and packed a lovely kick of spice. She thoroughly enjoyed it!Every person I've introduced to Petals of a Peony has left with a smile, and it's clear that this charming spot in Overton Square is a beautiful culinary gem. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an exceptional dining experience. Whether you're a longtime fan or a first-time visitor, you're in for a treat!

Szechuan Chinese Restaurant in the heart of Midtown Memphis - 10/10 soooo good! When you visit, you'll definitely want to order family style so you can try multiple dishes. Some dishes are spicier than others so if you're sensitive to spicy make sure to ask before ordering. The vegetables are great - definitely don't skip the green beans. There's a big selection of vegetarian and vegan dishes. They have tea, Chinese soft drinks, and alcohol (sake, baijiu, beer, and wine). They also have great lunch specials. This place is good for large groups or small intimate gatherings. Easy to find pescatarian or dairy free dishes. I found the servers to be attentive. Oh yeah - the inside is beautiful too!

PofP is a cute upper casual style Chinese restaurant (reservations are available). Our waiter was very personable and attentive. The bartender was amazing, she came to the table to help ensure our drinks were perfect and indeed she did. I highly recommend the Lycee Martini. It has a pear taste, sweet and delicious.The Milky Crispy Shrimp were delicious, definitely getting again. The Spicy Dumplings were great as well, recommend at least two servings of sharing, IMO.The Shrimp fried was indeed plentiful and good. Definitely shareable as it's ALOT for one person. It does not come with a soup/salad, forewarning.The Spicy Crispy Chicken was meh, very "crispy" or fried hard as the description states, in comes with a side of white rice only. No sauce which in my opinion made it very basic and dry.I would strongly suggest the restaurant offer sides, vegetables, side of fried rice vs a full entree, ginger salad or miso soup vs dinner soups. Chinese wings or similar. Again, cute place but food changes could be a bit better. I wouldn't recommend for kids as the options are spicy and not really kid friendly, in my opinion.

I set my mind to trying one of the restaurants that made Yelp's Top 100 list! I'm talking FLAWLESS MEAL every visit! Authentic Szechuan cuisine right in the heart of midtown Memphis! Everything came out as the chef prepared it, but the flow was seamless. Our waitress was the sweetest and even recommended a few dishes based on some of our preferences and things we wanted to venture out and try! Overall great dinner experience!

This is the old Paulette's! I loooove what they did with the space. So neat and linear. A restaurant with great potential that's still working out some kinks. The space itself is beautiful and creates a lovely atmosphere that makes you want to love everything about it. My spring rolls were delicious! While that appetizer showed real promise, my shrimp dish was taken over by an overpowering bitter pepper in my vegetables that dominated the entire plate. Service was surprisingly inattentive given that it wasn't busy - had to hunt down our server a couple of times. That said, the overall concept and ambiance are strong enough that I'm willing to give it another shot. Next time I'll try different menu items and hope for more attentive service. The bones of a great restaurant are here - they just need some fine-tuning.

If you're reading this map it out and go now. The place is amazing. I'm thinking of flying back to Memphis just to eat here.

The food here was really good but a bit overpriced in my opinion. The service was good and quick and I appreciated the abundance of parking. The food was good enough for another visit but nothing to write home about

This was such a fun dining experience! This was my first time trying traditional Chinese food. The service and interior were lovely. We got the Peony Chicken (pan seared chicken with peppers), Sliced Beef with onion (savory), and Chicken Dumplings (wonderful). The matcha tiramisu at the end was sweet yet light. We will definitely be back to try other menu items :)

All I can say is wowwwwwww! This was my first time eating sichuan Chinese food and I will say it did not disappoint. This is a great addition to the midtown area and I will def be back to try different items. I got the Spring rolls. They came out so fresh crispy and steaming hot! It lacked a little bit in flavor but still good. That cumin beef!! SHOW STOPPER! Everything was cooked and seasoned to perfection. And it was spicy but not unbearable! I'm telling you get this! You won't be disappointed! It is very well decorated and the servers are so nice and helpful! Can't wait to be back.

Best meal of my life hands down! The food is so fresh! My favorite dishes are the kung pao chicken, cucumber salad is to die for, the edamame beef was amazing! The gravy almost reminded me of pot roast. The chicken fried rice is the best ever, and the dumplings are awesome! Nothing I have tried here has been bad! It's all perfect!!!
