My friend and I visited Perignons on May 21, 2022 around 4ish.The hostess who greeted us was nice and cordial. We later found out she was the manager. She stated that because they were serving a large party, they were still on their brunch menu. We took that to mean that they would've been serving dinner by then, but the kitchen was backed up. Now, after checking the restaurant's hour, I understand that they are usually closed during the 4 o'clock hour and do not open again until 5pm. I would have rather she shared this information up front, so that we could've made an informed decision. I believe that the manager was trying to be accommodating, which can be appreciated, but there is a reason why the restaurant is scheduled to take a break between brunch and dinner.Other than the brunch party, my friend and I were the only two people in the restaurant.Secondly, upon being seated, my friend ordered Chicken and Waffles with a side of sausage. It took 45 minutes for her order to come to the table. The waffles looked like Eggo waffles, and the order was wrong. She ordered sausage. They gave her bacon. And, when the sausage did come out, it was burnt. Her food was not hot. We were very confused as to why everything took so long.I didn't want breakfast food. The waitress informed us that they would start their dinner menu at 5pm. Since it was taking so long for my friend's food to come, I waited until 5pm. We ordered Boom Boom shrimp as an appetizer. They were small in size and quantity as well as heavily battered, but the taste/seasoning was good. I then ordered some Jerk Chicken Pasta. The seasoning in the pasta was pretty good, but my pasta came out very watery. The noodles were also overcooked. Though my plate was hot, my food was not very hot. It was not that piping, fresh, hot with steam. Considering the shorter wait time, I think it should have been fresh.I informed my server of my issues, and she got the manager. To be fair, the manager did ask if I wanted something else. I declined and just asked for a discount because I was so hungry and didn't feel like waiting. We had already been there over an hour. In retrospect, I should have just sent the order back instead of looking for my food to be discounted. That would have made things simple and clear for the manager and me. I admit that. The manager did eventually give me a discount, and for that I am grateful. But, the lack of professionalism during my experience sealed the deal on my review.1. When I explained that my noodles were overcooked and my entree had too much sauce [the word I should have used was "soupy"], the manager stated they make it that way because most people like extra sauce as opposed to Olive Garden which does not give enough sauce. I believe that she should have simply focused on my issue rather than sharing how others like their pasta or naming another restaurant. Then, as far as the noodles being overcooked, she stated she could go to the back and taste the noodles herself. I was taken aback because if the meals are cooked fresh to order, why are there cooked noodles sitting and readily available for tasting? I am not a chef, so I don't know if noodles are prepped ahead of time. I shared my sentiments with her. Again, I acknowledge that when I was offered something else, I should have declined and just sent my entree back.2. After speaking with the manager, one of the cooks came from the kitchen and walked by the table. Then, the manager, the cook, and some of the hostesses were all gathered in the foyer/waiting area. We had to walk by them in order to leave, and it was uncomfortable. If it was break time, I don't believe the best place to stand was at the entrance area of the restaurant. 3. I am not sure if it's a family restaurant or not, but there were people in plain clothes coming from outdoors [some were patrons in the brunch party aforementioned] walking directly into the kitchen. That's not sanitary nor professional. I will say that my waitress, whom I believed is named Moe, was personable and nice. Overall, I think that the restaurant has some work to do around professionalism. I wish them all the best, and may God bless their business.Maybe, I'll try them again on a Sunday for a different experience!

Soul food Friday's Let's get into these classic down south soul food dishes from this locally owned black owned restaurant and event center @perignonsmemphis. I will let you know now this meal was def as good as the picture looks. I heard so much about this spot and I wanted to get it a try. I got the meatloaf with greens and sweet potatoes and my friend got the fried catfish with slaw and sweet potatoes. They both came with a delicious cornbread roll. Everything was so good! Not even going to lie the service was kinda slow because 1 person was literally doing everything but the food came out hot and verrry fresh! So I gave them a pass just because of that. If you are in Memphis def check them out! You will not be disappointed. #foodie #Perignons #Local #travel #traveler #foodgasm #foodporn #memphisfood #foodie #reviews #explore #explorepage #viral #blackfoodblogger #blackfoodie #nolaeats #neworleansfoodie #memphisfoodie #downtownmemphis #memphisdrinks #901food #meatloaf #summerdrinks #drink #memphisTN #wings

Had a taste for soul food & decided to try Perignon. I am a regular listener of the Thaddeus Matthews show on YouTube, & he always brags on their food. Food menu looks very good. All of the soul food staples including chicken & dressing, ribs, catfish, fried chicken, butter beans, greens, spaghetti, pork chops & more.Dinner menu is priced very well. Fried Chicken $8.99 , chicken dressing $10.99, ribs $13.99. Great assortment of appetizers, would like to try some on another visit,Maybe around lunch time. They are currently open Wednesday- Sunday noon through 7pm. Drink menu is overpriced. No prices on menu, market rate, so ask prior to ordering. Ciroc Obama $15, on the high end of what you would expect, so water for us. We ordered the chicken & dressing, mac & cheese, yams, cabbage, greens, and fried chicken. Food was BEYOND delicious. Dressing was excellent with a nice brown gravy and cranberry sauce. Cabbage had a nice buttery taste slightly steamed. Yams just right not to sugary. Turnip greens perfect . Hot water cornbread just the right taste of sweetness. Fried chicken was fresh and cooked to order. Macaroni cheese great. Ambiance is nice . There are several dining rooms & also a banquet room, which is very beautifully decorated. Laid back, good soft music, friendly waitress- gave good ordering advice, nice hostess . Plenty of parking. Quick to be seated. Signs posted noting there would be a wait, but the food time was average, no complaints here. Food was fresh and very delicious.I was in need of a place for home cooked southern food & I will definitely be a regular at this restaurant. Great jobs chefs, waitresses, & staff!

My kids took me here for Mother's Day 2023. I enjoyed the time with them but my food wasn't very tasty to me. My greens had a scratch taste and the chicken and dressing was bland to my liking. The hot water cornbread was good I must say.

The new location has great parking, which is a plus. There are two sides to the event space. You can access both from the front entrance. The larger space does have multipurpose use. It worked well for the comedy show. The smaller area which is set up more so as lounge type was nice, however was way too small to use as an event after party area. The bathroom lines were long as well due to the large number of people in attendance. Overall, a good venue that may need to take a few things into account for larger scaled events.

Food is good but they need more workers. I've been twice and both times the food was good but they only seem to have 2 workers, a cook and the other employee seems to be the server and hostess. She disappeared both times for about 15 minutes so new guest would come in and just stand there having to wait on her to come back up front. That alone makes me not want to come back. I tried curbside pickup but no one ever answer the phone to take my order. I'm trying to support Black Business but y'all make it hard. Prices are fair and food was hot and fresh. it tasted seasoned and not like it came out a can like Southern Hands that's located down the road

We booked a dinner reservation for a party of 18 on yesterday, 2/26/23. We were seated at our scheduled time. The server came and asked us to give her time to close out her other two tables and she will return. She returned and took our drink and food orders at the same time. It took her 20 minutes or more to return with the drink orders. There were several items no longer on the menu but we were not made aware prior to ordering. She began bringing the appetizers one at a time. By time we got most of the appetizers she began serving the entrees (one or two) at a time. So by the time 80% of the table was served she went to wait on two other tables. Something at simple as wings that were ordered at entrees were the last to be served to the table. 3 of the parties at our table never received their meals. We never got refills on beverages including water. Asked for the manager; he explained that there was a glitch in the system. My response to him was is that in that case he or someone should have came to the table and explained the situation. When the last persons that got their food the first 3 people were finish with their meals. The 3 that NEVER received their meals had to wait for their tickets to be adjusted. The food was great...the server Porsha was great(even tipped on top of 18%)...the kitchen was awful and manager never addressed the table until asked for. Oh, and it took another 15-20 minutes for the manager to appear. When I refuse to pay until I spoke with someone he came from the kitchen, but we were told there were 2 managers on duty.

I couldn't wait to try it because I've heard it was amazing. Sorry but it wasn't, the greens had a scorched meat taste, the dressing was thick and dry. The yams and cornbread delicious. Been there done that. The waitress was a sweetheart and very attentive The ambiance needs a facelift. It was rather boring
