Peggy Sue's Place

One of the better places in Heber Springs considering. First; It is cash only place. Nice atmosphere and a local vibe. The food is what is expected in this area. Almost all of them are Southern Cooking style. We went for lunch and after looking at the menu Breakfast would have been better. There are two menus. The one they hand you and the one on the white board above the counter. I would come back again to try the breakfast. The lunch was okay just seemed the same as a lot of other places around. Most of the reviews are favorable.

So for me, being on vacation means breakfast. Not a quick something to fuel me for a day of thinking, but a yummy, filling feast that gives me a slight urge for a nap. My wife and I tried this place our first day of vacation, and despite our usual pattern of trying different places, we've gone every morning we've been here. It's diner food of the best kind served with warmth and charm. And the biscuits? Among the finest I have EVER eaten. And I've eaten more than my fair share. It's the kind of breakfast Cracker Barrel wants to be, but isn't quite. This is a true original, a pure and tasty treat for your soul. It may not be to your taste, I suppose, but in that case we will never be friends. Fond acquaintances, maybe, but if you don't get why this place is special, well, I pity you.

Good country breakfast . Great atmosphere .. a very popular place to go. Got in fast , great prices, no complaints . Will go back!

A must stop spot on a trip to Heber! Great for breakfast, or lunch. Highly recommend the club sandwich for a light but filling lake day lunch! If you have room at all, don't skip the blueberry lemon cheesecake. Staff was super attentive and service was 10/10.

This place is fabulous, and the biscuits are the best I have ever had anywhere! The folks who work there are friendly, and the place is homey. If you find yourself in Heber Springs, you'll be missing something very special if you don't have breakfast at Peggy Sue's!

Had breakfast here on a weekend visit and already knew it was cash only in advance so was prepared. Breakfast was fantastic, biscuits are to die for as others have stated too, and the staff are friendly and welcoming. Nice hometown vibe to the place. Definitely a great choice.

Our party of three went to Peggy Sue's for breakfast. The restaurant passes the parking lot test ~ a full parking lot at around 9 am. This is a seat yourself sort of place. We waited fifteen minutes or so before a waitress arrived to pour coffee. After ten minutes or so, our orders were taken. It didn't take long for our food to arrive. Food was okay. Grits were of great consistency but needed salt, but that's common. Food could have been served hotter. The food was okay, but not fabulous. When an omelette arrives topped with sliced cheese, it's a loss of a star for me. I'm glad the locals like this place (one family had kids in pajamas ~ love that!) If I go back, it will be for lunch to see how that rolls. Also ~ current sign on the door ~ cash or check only. No credit cards.

Just awesome hometown place. 1/2 skillet biscuits and gravy and I'm happy!! Thank you.
