Pea-Soup's Lott-A-Freeze

I've eaten here MANY times and NEVER have I had a less than great experience. Today I had a fantastic fried oyster po-boy with tater tots, and even though I had to eat in the truck (Pea-Soups was PACKED apparently for Grandparents Day) I still had a great meal. The staff here are adamant about when busy, not allowing patrons to save tables as they walk in the door. That way those ordering first have a seat choice first. I like that. But I also like the burgers and roast beef po-boys. I have yet to find something on the menu that's just mediocre.

5 stars? Yes! It's a dairy freeze style place with amazing fried shrimp. I had the biggest, most perfectly fried shrimp. Top notch quality shrimp. I also had a fresh, fluffy baked potato. Mike had the fat boy burger. It was really good . It has a unique sauce that I had no issue with, but Mike was not a fan of. Great bun and fresh toppings. Hand pattied meat. The onion rings are hand battered flour based and are to die for. The homemade salad dressings are deliciousThe service was amazing. The woman who took our order cares so much about your food and experience that you would think she owns it. The young lady with her was so bubbly and talkative. An all around great experience. You have to try it!

Whenever we come to town (from California), this place is a must! Mis Barbara is a truly professional and delightful hostess. The food is always fresh and cooked to perfection. From the seafood platter, to 100% ground chuck burger s to the soft serve ice cream desserts, you will NOT be disappointed!The waitresses are also very kind, through, helpful and professional too! It's good enough to visit more than once a week!

If I could give this charming little place 10 stars I would every time. The food is off the chain. The cutest little local spot that has the best Original "Floating burger" & the lightest battered shrimp on the planet that just melt in your mouth :)...The chili on the floating burger is house made, like old fashion chili dog chili 2.Die for. We like it with cheese & the slaw. You have to eat it with a fork & knife amazballs with their tator tots. The little side salad is so yummy and they make their own ranch & 1000 island so so good! Get the salad :)..The shrimp, fish, po'boy's and platters are superb. The fish/shrimp is always super fresh, batter is the lightest, cooked to perfection YUM! :)...Superb seafood everything. Can't go wrong here. Also the Roast beef po'boy is not to be missed omg :)...A local favorite. Legend. Highest recommendation.

I suppose I'm in the middle of the road here. I ordered the floating burger to take back to my room and it was interesting. It was good, but I think I would rather go traditional on my burgers in the future. I think it was the curiosity that got me on this one. Would I order it again, probably not, would I try something different, probably. It didn't take long to get the order to go and service was good.

I have been eating here for over 20 years. There are a lot of great qualities to find in this restaurant and only a few negatives. For the area, this restaurant is an absolute gem! I've always had the burger, fried shrimp, and fried shrimp po-boy - all of which are pretty delicious. The ranch is homemade and always hits the spot when I'm craving a side salad with my meal. They also have DELICIOUS ice cream that you definitely shouldn't let pass you by.

This is not the same place. Closed Saturday Sunday and Monday. Also if you get there past 6.45 in the evening they are closing. Who buys a restaurant and doesn't want to work. I give. I have tried to eat a a favorite of mine several times. It's always closed. Probably not going to try anymore. The float burger is from days gone by.

Great food. Don't expect a smile from the servers, they always look stressed. Waitresses need hair nets.

This place is pretty good. All I have to say is real steak fingers! Each time the food has been good and prompt. Give it a shot.
