Papa V was right off the highway in Tupelo, it was a quick stop, but they have plenty of food items to purchase, if you are looking for a good meal ...the barbecue was a smoked big sandwich. Well for a convenience store..not to bad. Other food items as well they even have the big cups for the slushy's that are inexpensive compared to other stores. On this day employees were friendly ...the place was clean ...even the bathrooms clean. When I'm passing through I'll make sure I stop here!

Good quick and easy stop coming off the highway. We didn't eat the BBQ, but I have to mention their excellent selection of Samuel Smith's products, including some that I have only seen in large format liquor retailers. Everything you could want from the line. Very cool. It's a clean place and very close to downtown.

If you are wondering why the 5 STARS. I can sum it up in one word, BEER. I have never seen the selection and or diversity of the different beers available in one place like I have seen here. If they do not have what you are looking for, they can get it. Provided you can wait. If you have a growler bring it by, if not you can always purchase one here and they will gladly fill it up with one of there several draft selections.Yes I have tried their food here. For a gas station it is AWSOME. My only recommendation is don't wait to long as it moves quickly. The place is clean the staff is friendly and the store well stocked. Oh yes did I mention they also sell gas. LOL

The food will surprise you. Again, it's not the highest quality around, but it's surprising how good they are for a gas station. They keep the place clean and everyone is friendly. I get a breakfast about once a week and a lunch plate (usually catfish with beans and fries) about once every couple of months. We've also had them cater a couple of events which were great as well. They're also right off 45, so it's a great place to make a pit stop on a road trip.

Finding the Positive. As you know, that's my mission. One of the many places I found it in Tupelo was at this c-store, in the form of the nice woman at the checkout counter: the sparkling Persona. That's her name. As in "non grata." But she's very grata. She was friendly and professional. She deftly processed my Snickers and bottled water, and then I moved out of the line. And let her handle the other customers. I didn't leave, though. I stayed, and we chatted some more once she was free. tI learned about her boss. She likes it when he comes in. "He's a good guy. Normal. He waits in line with his merchandise, behind the other customers, even though this is his store! He does the same thing at his other place, Mugshots, the restaurant next door. Sometimes the wait is 35 minutes for dinner, it's so popular. And he and his wife wait. And he pays for his own things, too. No airs."So I was envisioning the owner, just standing in line at his own store, waiting to pay for the chips he's buying from himself. Behind me a voice said, "It's true." It was a chef from Mugshots, down the street. He was corroborating what Persona had said about their boss. And then Persona glanced at her Mugshots counterpart and said, "Wait a minute. He pays us pennies... and pays you guys millions... I don't know why I keep complimenting him!" She laughed.Because of a lull in customer flow, we kept chatting, and I ventured into a different subject. The moment I hinted that I'd just had romantic pain, her eyes lit up and the psychic Captain Kirk inside her head said "Engage The Human Warmth and Sympathy Drive!"And warmth and sympathy there was. Perhaps the best kind: where it flows both ways. We shared stories and some wisdom, although the wisdom flowed more from her to me. I tried to share my main Love Insight: no matter the difficulty, decide if you're really in love, and if you are, flood the situation, no matter the pain, with love. St. Paul is the original love guru, and he's right. Love is patient and kind and does not keep score. Once you're keeping score, you're screwed. Tear down all scoreboards. And that is hard to do.There was a looming scoreboard in the way she viewed relationships... and it had to do with finances. What gets split. What gets shared. "Right now, the money I've got saved is for a fitness plan, maybe. To slim down. I might not want to share that!"I protested that she didn't need to slim down. Then I reminded her about score-keeping. And throwing love at the situation. Don't worry about the financial issue. Just flood it all with love and patience. If she can."I will," she said. Then she smiled... "Come back and see me in a month or two... either I'll have a husband or a tight stomach."

Stopped in for a beer run on our way back to dry ass red bay. Chad the beer guy stopped to talk with me, we chatted about IPAs, San Diego beers, industry, etc. He was knowledgeable and had great recommendations. Left with all beers and 3 ciders I have never even heard of. All MS brewing companies. Awesome selection.

I read the reviews about the food. Therefore, I decided to get a snack. I asked for the BLT...I was told that they were out....I then asked for the chicken sandwich...The guy looked at what food was available...And said that we are out of that too...I asked can you just cook it? The response was no, the cook was gone home...It's not even 5:00pm and the only option was food that had been sitting out for who knows how long...SMH...

First stop on our week-long trip south. Trying to eat local and to avoid fast food. Saturday afternoon. They did not have a lot of variety this late in the day, but what they did have was very good and the portions were generous. Between us, we got chicken tenders, bbq beans, green beans, and mac and cheese. Everything was fresh and tasty. Way too much food to eat at once. Very friendly. Clean place. Will stop again next time we're in the area.
