Our Grandma's House of Pancakes

Great food, great spot to gather and amazing service. I will echo other reviewers don't get put off by the look, it's awesome. I had the chicken and waffles, it was delicious. My family allowed me to take photos of their meals. Great spot to hang, clean and welcoming. I recommend highly

Don't let the messy and divey appearance scare you away. OGHP serves up a very solid breakfast. Our group of three was pleased with our meal.Our server was friendly and efficient. She was quick with the coffee and kept mugs full.The eggs were all well executed and served as ordered. But the star was the blueberry waffle. Made with fresh blueberries, it was phenomenal: crispy ridges and soft insides accented by perfectly sweet local blueberries. I could have had a second helping!Don't let the dumpy vibe and less than pristine bathroom scare you off. They make a mean breakfast despite the humble setting.

Think of pulling up to your grandmas house and coming in for a bite to eat and this is that spot. This is a spot where the folks are friendly, the food is affordable and the food is hot. If you are looking for something with exotic meals and upscale, this isn't the spot for you. If you are looking for a down home meal where you pull up to a seat at the table then come on in. For me, the grits I got needed a little love - they needed to be cooked a little longer and needed some seasoning but besides that, everything else was good.

Ok. There is t much open right now in the town of Clarksdale, so we were pretty excited to see that this place was open today!First, it doesn't have air. We arrived about 12:30-1:00pm, and it was hot inside. The service was good, and the food was good, but the inside was Smokey. Really Smokey from the kitchen. I ate my omelette as quick as I could because I needed to get out of here because my eyes were burning To be fair, smoke burns my eyes quickly anyway. The food and service was fine, but dining here was not a pleasant experience between the heat and smoke. I would go early before the kitchen smoke can accumulate and before it gets hot outside. I am sure that would have helped make it Much better.

Service was fabulous and pancakes were delicious! My dad and I ate here two mornings in a row on our visit to Clarksdale.

In the south, we'd call Grandma's a hole-in-the-wall. A hole-in-the-wall is a small, non-assuming, nothing fancy about it restaurant serving comforting and delicious food. I have been to Clarksdale a time or two and have never noticed Grandma's before....and boy am I sad about that. Now, clearly based on the name I had to order pancakes, but I wanted to try other breakfast yummies as well. So I ordered one of the breakfast meals on the menu - eggs, bacon, hash browns with a side of pancakes. Everything was perfectly diner-ish, tasty breakfast foods. And then there were the pancakes. You can get plain, chocolate chip or blueberry. I went with blueberry. Let's just say I have been depressed since leaving Clarksdale and coming home to my own pancakes. I've never had pancakes so good. I can't wait to go back.

Such a delicious breakfast served by such a delightful person. Fluffy pancakes, crispy bacon and a proper omelet just stuffed with goodies. Can't wait until tomorrow morning!

I was surprised by the looks of things... hope this helps the next visitor to not be quick to judge. Filled with men eating alone or in two, who seemed to live near by. They looked so happy eating their breakfast/ pancakes. Almost like they either were bachelors or they were avoiding their wives oatmeal boring cooking lol. The decor was old country rustic, and food was like Grandma's cooking, made to your liking. Pancakes were made from scratch and yummy tasting. I tried a few bites of the main breakfast articles and had just one complaint... the sausage seemed store frozen bought. Everything else was home made looking, and for the area/circumstances of the town, I will make the assumption that it's the best breakfast experience around. *street parking / bathrooms were old/rustic but functional, staff was helpful and polite. Nice humble experience...

Definitely will be back! Tasted like my mom's cooking! The pancakes were so fluffy and had a amazing flavor.

These ladies are friendly, pleasant and responsive. Breakfast was served as ordered ( that is, eggs and sides were cooked as requested ). While the ambiance was old and rustic, it was clean. Half and half served with coffee which was good. Grits needed a little resuscitation(grits are the same thing as polenta; but are often not respected by commercial kitchens and people to whom they are unfamiliar) I have Alpha-gal allergy they were accommodating. I was glad we chose "Grandma's" for breakfast.
