Osaka Japanese Cuisine

Honestly, I want to come here more but none of my family seems to like this place as much. They're all addicted to the ginger sauce at Stix. I do wish I had more excuses to come here.The fried rice is what I remember! Recently Stix's fried rice has seemed to have gotten way more basic but Osaka has really stepped theirs up!! For example, Osaka uses seasoned butter, vegetables, egg, soy sauce, and chicken in their rice. Stix only uses egg and soy sauce now. The difference is very clear and I now prefer Osaka! I also LOVED Osaka's sushi. Talk about having sushi for days- my only complaint is I wish they'd make it easier to tell which rolls are deep fried and that they'd make the menu easier to open. I don't mind a huge menu, but one that I have to spread over two seats is not good.I have to admit, the chicken hibachi wasn't as good as I was hoping for, but I really liked the shrimp. I wish they had some spicy sauce besides sriracha to add to my food, like chili paste. But I guess I'll just get shrimp next time instead. The sushi though was great! I may also just stick to getting sushi here instead of anything else.The Yamabuki rill is so good but it's so big it's difficult to fit into my mouth in one bite. I have jaw problems so I might just have to cut this one in half. My younger daughter wanted to go to a restaurant where they cook at your table for her birthday. Made reservations at Osaka and quickly learned why this was my first visit back after walking out their door from dining 10 years ago. Even though I live 5 minutes from this establishment, I was quickly reminded of how unprofessional and horrible the service is at this spot. We arrived and were sat within 5 minutes of our reservation. It took the waitress 17 minutes to take our order. Once placed, it was another 50 minutes before the chef showed up to start on dinner. Now our chef, Stephen, was the only bright spot the entire night. When I asked the waitress if the chef would be out soon after 40 minutes of patiently waiting, her response "he's coming soon!" For the type and quality of food you get, this spot is very over priced. If I'm going to pay $20+ from the kids menu for chicken, fried rice, soup, and vegetables, the service needs to step up big time. Food quality is very low for what you pay as well. I had to ask multiple times for a refill on drinks after sitting long periods with empty glasses. Menu's were sticky as if they hadn't been wiped down in months too. Overall, if it wasn't for the charisma of our chef, this place would have been a complete bust. Definitely DO NOT recommend to anyone!!Food quality-1Chef entertainment-4Service-0

This location is MUCH better than the OB location. I will drive longer just to eat at this location, because it is so much better. The Collierville Osaka has great service and food and they are usually always pretty busy, which I take as a good sign. I like sitting at the hibachi tables, which adds a little extra to the experience.

We will always love Osaka! Florida roll is our go to choice. The fried rice is always great. I wish they hadn't turned the bar into a takeout station, but food and service is always good!

I have been coming here since I was in high school ! It's the go to place with my grandmother and we can sit here for hours and talk and eat and just have the best of time ! The servers so are kind and the food is wonderful ! I always leave satisfied with delicious food !

It's a darn shame. This place is like a sinking ship. The Managment is nothing short of pure chaos. Arguments in front of the waiting customers. Very uncomfortable. Staff try's very hard, but I fear it is too far gone. Food was decent.
