Great food, service was good, nice clean place. Salad bar was the best part. Will visit again.

Nice place with good wholesome food. A true family place. The service was outstanding. They couldn't have been more helpful, but not intrusive like so many places. Extensive menu and a decent salad bar. A true oddity these days. Atmosphere was old time diner meets local cafe. The food came out quick. I had the blackened catfish with slaw and salad bar. Great flavor. Be sure to stop in.

First time visit for a Saturday lunch, just about end of the noon hour. Parking lot very busy but still able to find a handicap parking space since I had my mother with me. Went in to verify they had seating to accommodate a wheelchair, which they did.Not too noisy, tables not too close together. Garnered a seat near the salad bar and our drink order was promptly taken and delivered by Caitlin. They were out of a couple of the cuts of steak, so Mother ordered the filet medallions with a baked potato, just butter, and I had the small catfish fried filet with fried okra, hushpuppies and mac n cheese. We both added a trip to the salad bar. Mother's steak was a perfect medium, and her baked potato was a great texture with 3 sides of butter. I think probably the only hiccups would be the salad bar, and a good salad bar is a beast to upkeep, especially when the restaurant is this crowded.Cherry tomatoes were more the size of small Campari tomatoes, and I had to cut some "spots" out of my mother's tomatoes. (I probably would have eaten them, but to her, they were "bad.") Servers were trying to change out items but weren't able to do so quickly because of the number of guests. Onions were strong, not nice green onions, no Italian dressing, and the blue cheese dressing seemed to be missing chunks of blue cheese - maybe they were at the bottom? Add to the fact I found more offerings on the other side of the 2-row salad bar I would have enjoyed (didn't know they weren't identical) as we were standing in line to check out. My salad was good, loved the fried okra, mac n cheese was fine, hush puppies were yummy, and so was the HUGE catfish piece. We had leftovers.Check out was good and bad. Caitlin brought a to go cup for my mother's lemonade - good. We had to stand in line between the 2nd salad bar on our left and diners sitting at their tables on the right - bad. And the line didn't move fast - bad. I don't know if it's the norm for people to have to do this or if they were just understaffed to the point where waitresses couldn't take the payments, either way, it couldn't have been pleasant for the diners.Would return because of the courtesy extended to my mother, the portions and the salad bar - BOTH sides of it.

Cute place, lots of decorations throughout the restaurant. Friendly staff. Huge salad bar, decent pricing.

Good food, GREAT salad bar! Steaks are very decently priced. Majority of workers are friendly. Wife loves the salad bar baked potato combo. Usually pretty busy, especially on a weekend night. We came Saturday night before Mother's Day, waited a little bit, but food didn't take long once seated.

this restaurant has been in business for many many years in Hartselle, Alabama. It is one of the hotspots in this area, and it is always busy. they have a full-size salad bar with Different toppings of your choice along with desserts. If you like sweet potatoes, they have actually really good sweet potatoes. If like steaks, they are excellent! they do have other choices like chicken and fish. The atmosphere reminds you of a old Timey restaurant or an old Timey 50s style. Prices ranging anywhere from $10 and up. Highly recommend this is a place to check out especially if you like Country style foods, and steaks.

My wife, her mom and I stopped in for dinner on a Saturday night around 5PM. We were told about a 20-25-minute wait. They actually got us in around 15 minutes or so. The inside of the restaurant is decked out with some amazing wall art. Collectibles and such. On the salad bar they have some of the classic metal lunchboxes. The Waltons, Star Wars and more. (they are behind protective glass)Let's first talk about our server Kiliegh (sp) She was AWESOME!! Very attentive, respectful and knowledgeable. We got our questions out of the way and then ordered. I ordered the full rack of BBQ ribs with fries. My wife ordered the 8oz ribeye steak with okra and my mother-in-law ordered the 3 pork chop dinner with sweet potato. We all ordered 1 trip to the salad bar. Kiliegh got our salad plates, and we were off.......The salad bar had a lot of options. I was more than happy with my salad, and you can get as much as you want in your 1 trip. Now the food......Didn't take too long to arrive and everything was hot. My full rack of ribs was the "fall off the bone" ribs. The BBQ sauce was very good. I actually got a side of it for my fries. The fries I got were the steak fries, but I believe they had other French fry options. My wife's steak was very good. She got it with mushrooms & onions. I didn't try the okra because....well you know...it's okra but she said it was good. My mothers-in-laws pork chops were HUGE. Boneless and juicy. She was happy with her whole meal as were my wife and me. We will definitely be back as there were other items we want to try. If you go, be sure to ask for Kiliegh. She is very sweet and an awesome server!

I usually love your shrimp platter, not this time. I got a six piece platter. Shrimp were usually small and over cooked.

My family and I met there to eat before a very special function. I ordered my steak medium well. It was very rare...to the point that it was only lightly seared on the outside edge (bled all over my plate when I cut into it. After flagging down the waitress, I sent it back. They seared the edge that I'd cut off of it and brought it right back. It was still cold!!! After again finding the waitress, she seemed very unconcerned about the issue but offered to take it back again. I had absolutely zero confidence that it would be any better and we had to leave. She just left. We found her AGAIN and told her I'd like to speak to the manager...thinking that I would get a resolution. She was very unconcerned with the problem and was not offering any kind of acceptable solution so I just said that I did not want to pay for a steak that was inedible. She was very RUDE but finally said that she wouldn't charge for the steak but I would have to pay for the sweet potato (that I ate 2 bites of). Fine!!! I can eat a steak anywhere between medium rare and down but cannot eat raw, cold meat. She blamed it on being busy....they weren't close to full and we went in at 4 pm! How busy do you think they'd be at that time???Yep, not even close! I'd hate to see what they serve at prime time! I was very polite with her and have never been treated like the Manager came back at me with. She acted like it was such a inconvenience for her to have to deal with any kind of issue and thought I should wait and let them send that raw meat home with me....even though the rest of my family was finished and we had to leave. Needless to say, I'll never be back in there again. She lost them at least 6 customers that night. My family couldn't believe how rude she was to me.

Simple food prepared well at a reasonable price. Beautiful salad bar. Restaurant is well staffed and maintained. Decor is fun and nostalgic . Community comes together here. Can be hectic at times.
