We.love.Novel! Specific things I love: *all the local book options. Whether it's a local issue, local event, or local author -- you are likely to find it at Novel. *their signed book section! It makes me so happy to find so many unique and special books all in one spot. *their gifts! They've got art from regional artists -- prints, jewelry, local baked goods, etc. That is probably the section we buy most religiously from and we are never disappointed! The quality of these items is fantastic as well. They've got socks with witty saying on them and all kinds of book merch that I love and want to buy every bit of it!*I would be remiss if I did not specially point out their toy section is my kids FAVORITE part of the store.*author visits! LOVE! Getting to meet your favorite author and have a photo with them?! Nothing like it. We've never had a bad experience with the employees at Novel and while there are good deals to be found throughout the store you will likely pay closer to full price for items throughout the store.

I love Novel. I like their selection and the staff pick sections too. I would love a bigger bargain section or have a used section. Libro is A++++ and a good reason to go to Novel. I do enjoy that they have the new and poplar books right when you walk in the entrance. Definitely will keep going to Novel. If there was a used section I would go more often.

I purchased a few books and had the pleasure of dining at their attached restaurant, Libro. I prefer bookstores that are a bit more spacious with places to sit. The front of the store seems like they tried to squeeze as many books in as they could, and although the very back of the store has plenty of space, I think it's used as an event space. The restaurant, Libro, is the star of my review, however (5 stars). I absolutely loved their menu offerings and their customer service. I had an early dinner before the crowd started coming in and I'm glad for it - I got to really enjoy the experience and the ambiance. I consider this a more upscale-causal cafe. The prosciutto crudités were absolutely delicious and the mixed berry cobbler was nicely balanced without too much sweetness. The restaurant alone is worth the trip. I'm still on the hunt for a bookstore that feels more homey.

Excellent spot for a bite to eat. I was meeting a group for a lunch meeting. We were seated immediately. Our server was very pleasant and attentive. I ordered a salad. Others at the table ordered sandwiches and fruit or French Fries. Our food came out in a reasonable amount of time. It was all fresh and well prepared and pleasing to the eye. I highly recommend. The prices are slightly higher than I would have expected but the food and service was very good.

I have not been to this restaurant Tucktaway inside of a bookstore in many years. Pleasantly surprised that they had a nice assortment of happy hour cocktails to go along with a lovely pasta dinner. Excellent service and very flexible with changes to the standard menu. I will return!

Excellent food. Overpriced, smaller quantity. But definitely delicious. Came to read some books and study. Sadly mistaken that a book store would provide tables and chairs for such things.

Full disclosure - I'm a complete bibliophile and bookstore nerd. I read everyday. I say no to invitations to go out drinking because I'd rather stay in and read my library book. I worked at a Barnes & Noble during high school and college so I could have a discount on books. I love bookstores. This bookstore was like no other bookstore I've ever been in (and I think visiting bookstores in cities in which I don't live is a tourist necessity). It's HUGE, it's amazingly well-stocked, it's BEAUTIFUL, IT HAS A BAR AND RESTAURANT INSIDE...I could go on. Seriously, this place is heaven. My husband and brother-in-law had to drag me out when I racked up $100 at the cash register. If I lived in Memphis, I know that novel. would be a place that I would visit constantly. It's not just a bookstore. It's an invaluable part of a vibrant local book culture. Sure, it's got a book you just heard about on NPR. But it's also got knowledgeable booksellers who really love to read and recommend titles AND wonderful local events. I fell in love with this store. And I know that on my next visit to Memphis, I'll be back.

The first time I was at Novel was last week. I had always gone to David Kidd & thought nothing could compare! But it did and in many ways! Too many to list! I will go back and try the restaurant. My friends have been bragging about it! Thank you Novel!!
