Naru Japanese Restaurant

My wife and I tried Naru for the first time - it was her birthday and she wanted sushi, so we headed to Naru. We were greeted and seated promptly and were waited on very soon after being seated. We ordered our drinks and after they arrived, our server took our order, after giving us some recommendations on the sushi. We had the shrimp tempura and edamame appetizers and they were delicious. We ordered three different sushi rolls (cooked and raw) and they came shortly after we finished the appetizers. The sushi ingredients tasted very fresh and all were delicious. They brought my wife a piece of fried cheesecake presented beautifully on a plate, because it was her birthday. We really enjoyed our time at Naru and will likely be back! Highly recommend!

Middle of the road sushi. Hit up this place as I wanted sushi and decided to branch out from my regular place. I visited in person, dining w a friend. We ordered a few special rolls and a hibachi fish dish. Service was great. They were nice and pretty attentive. 4 stars here. Food was just ok. I ordered the "special rolls", which are more expensive, but usually better. They were just very ok. I was a bit disappointed. The fish dish was good not great, but better than the sushi. 3 stars in this category. After our meal, the server brought out some fresh pineapple as a dessert - free of charge!! 5 stars!!It's an ok place, but won't become my favorite sushi place in the area. I'd go back w friends if they chose it beforehand.

This is a great little restaurant. The decor is so nice and the service is great. I dined here twice, both on a Saturday. I didn't wait for a table either day! Service was fast and the food was delicious! I wasn't too fond of the drinks. But the food was excellent. Will def be back

Fantastic sushi and really cute plating! We loved every bit of our meal and the service was fast. If we're ever in town again we'll definitely come back!

This place is a hidden gem in Southaven! The food is fresh and definitely cooked to order. It was a date night for hubby and I, so we went to our favorite little cozy Japanese restaurant. Service is always on point! Hostess seated us quickly upon arrival. We ordered the calamari as an appetizer. It was different from what I am accustomed to, but was good. It came out looking like onion rings with hoisin glaze on top with a slightly spicy sauce on the side. I ordered the Veggie Udon Hibachi which was very flavorful. However, the texture of the Udon noodle was a bit to thick for my liking. Will ask for a different type of noodle the next time we visit. The husband ordered the Hibachi Steak and Chicken. He said it was excellent. To top it off they give complimentary pineapple at the end of the meal. Best tasting pineapple this side of the MS. This place is awesome!!!! To the HANGRY (hungry &angry) PEOPLE....Now there was a little bit of a wait for our food, but it was worth it. Please be patient and courteous to the staff if you decide to visit.

I loved the food here! It was nice and relaxing. The server gave us pineapple right after we paid and it was exactly what I needed.

Naru has a very friendly service! Their restaurant appears to be clean and comfortable. It has become our favorite sushi spot in Desoto County. They offer buy one get one half off for their special rolls. They also bring you a complimentary dessert after your meal!

Love this place ! Great food , fast service and an awesome patio for dining ! They always give a pineapple float for dessert

Circled back around and decided to try the hibachi since I never get that and always get sushi. The chicken hibachi did not disappoint. Comes with two grilled shrimp, fried rice and grilled veggies. It was very good and I found something else to eat whenever I visit. I also ordered a snow crab roll and try the "blue haze" drink. The waitress asked if I wanted my drink made regular or strong. I told her regular and while it was sweet, it still got the job done. I really enjoyed it and of course I'll be back!

The food was fair, service was poor, restaurant was loud and the restrooms needed major attention.
