The great Teenie Hodges, you never know who you'll see in Murphy's
Murphy's fun times
Murphy's is an awesome place and allowed us to hold a memorial for a former regular who considered other regulars as his family.
Welcome to murphs

I love this Irish Pub! The bartender is so sweet and the burgers are my favorite in all of Memphis. I also recommend the cheese and bacon tots appetizer and mozzarella sticks. They have a pool table, an outdoor area where you can smoke and the inside is smokeless. I get so tired of a lot of places having blaring bright lights and this place is the perfect level of dim. The drink options are slightly limited but they have Jameson slushies and advertise their shooters on a screen. Hope yall come on by!

Midtown staple. Best in town for St. Patrick's Day! Crowd varies vastly depending on time of day or the band.

Murphy's is a 5 star local beer pub that's been in Memphis forever. It's got cold beer, good bar food (great fries! And the burger & bar pizza ain't too shabby either), reasonable prices & friendly crowd. Pool table, video games, back patio clean bathroom. What more can you ask for? Oh, how 'bout some great local bands & musicians on select nights. That's what I'm talking about!

This is a decent dive bar. Not sure what's Irish about it, but hey whatevs. So our initial impression was a good one. There was a decent crowd and it smelled vaguely of cigarettes and french fries. The waitress who came to take our order was kind of on the rude side. She scrutinized our AL drivers licenses like hella hard. She then informed me that my license was expired by 3 days and told me to leave because it was "invalid". She didn't ask if I had alternative identification, she just told me that I couldn't be there. I presented my temporary ID and after doing some quick math in her head and determining it had been less than 2 weeks since the temp had been issued, she begrudgingly allowed us to stay. She further scrutinized my friend's ID and took it behind the counter to scan it. We didn't even order alcohol...I understand why such extreme measures are required. I know how strict the laws are concerning liquor licenses. It was not that she did the aforementioned things, but rather the WAY she them. Being an inconvenience sometimes cannot be avoided, but being rude absolutely can.The food took forever to arrive, but it was decent typical bar food. I had chicken tenders and fries. Hard to screw that up...

In Memphis on a business trip and was staying pretty close to Murphy's so based on their reviews, I decided to stop in for a couple of drinks...I have to say, it's always a little weird walking into a bar where you don't know anyone but you're hoping that everyone will be friendly and social...well, I found the bar that will be my first choice every time while I'm in Memphis. While I was only there for about an hour, I felt like it was the most comfortable, neighborhood bar with a laid-back atmosphere (with excellent service from the bartender - wish I could remember his name) and everyone was so welcoming.By the end of that hour, I felt like a local. That's my kind of bar. I'll be back too.

Total garbage. Bands should avoid like the Black Plague. Owner has no idea how to treat touring professional bands. Garbage people, garbage business practices. Would give FIVE NEGATIVE STARS if possible. Don't let the owner fool you either, this place has been the same for years, pathetic. If they weren't a music venue why did they book a touring band? PROFESSIONAL bands book tours months in advance and depend on each show to make it to the next, cancellation the night of is unacceptable in any situation. Because you don't like the band is never an acceptable excuse.

Located across the street from the former, late- great punk club 'The Antenna' (now gone the way of CBGB's) Murphy's has taken up the musical mantle of it former neighbor. Murphy's is a great place to see a punk band or rock-n-roll show. Seems like most of the younger, rockabilly and punk bands that come through town play here, as well as a fair share of local bands. They have great burgers and 'pub grub' for lunch and full bar and choice of beers. A back room pool table and outdoor patio area provide good conversation spots, between sets.

Wanted to grab a quick bite before a show across the street. Service was below average. Didn't expect much from a dive bar, but I did expect to get my food in less than 45 minutes. The server seemed as if we were bothering her because we weren't "regulars" and at the bar. Oh well.
