Absolutely great BBQ. Get the ribs the meat falls right off the bone. Very tender. Excellent slaw and potato salad and homemade pie. Also great service. Between Nashville and Memphis we have been to a lot of bbq for tourist places. This place is authentic and delicious!!!

Passing through Brownsville & stopped to eat here because of the great reviews. For us, it didn't live up to the reviews. We had a rib plate & catfish plate. Our ribs were meaty & had good smoke flavor but were dry. The fried catfish was very good. Crisp, fresh & not a bit greasy. The cole slaw, baked beans & potato salad tasted like the processed supermarket types -not homemade. The green beans had an odd flavor to them, some kind of seasoning that was off. Wish we liked the flavors better cause the portions are generous, the people who run the restaurant are very welcoming & the atmosphere is comfortable & homey.

My husband and I stopped in Brownsville for the night, and found this place for dinner. It's located in the back of what appears to have previously been a home that is shared with an insurance company.The restaurant area feels very homey and is extremely well kept. We were greeted immediately by the sweetest lady and seated. While we reviewed the menu she brought us some ice cold watermelon. So very refreshing after our 10 hour drive.I ordered the small catfish plate and my husband ordered the ribs. He raved about how good they were, and he gave me a taste. They were absolutely awesome! He said the potato salad and corn were awesome as well. My catfish plate was very good and I would absolutely get it again. The staff were very friendly, inviting, and attentive and came out several times to make sure we were happy with everything. If we are ever in the area again, we will absolutely go back. I HIGHLY recommend this place if you are ever in the area!!

This was a great dining experience! Really casual atmosphere and what was obviously an old home. But the food was tremendous the service great and extremely friendly. Some of the best ribs I've had! I wholeheartedly recommend this place.

Excellent food! Super friendly folks! Good prices! We really liked the bbq sauce! It was a rainy day so we ate inside. The restaurant is a converted house; lovely decor in the two dining areas. We'll try the outdoor seating the next time we're in the area.

Warm friendly welcome, attentive service and delicious food! Everything is smoked, not BBQ'd, and I don't like smoked meat but I really enjoyed the brisket and the ribs we were given for a complimentary taste test. The meat was tender, tasty and totally cooked, with the rib meat falling off the bone. We tried the homemade chess pie at the recommendation of a couple of regulars. I particularly enjoyed the hot slightly peppery green beans and sweet potato casserole. What a great find!!

Amazing food and service. We came to have dinner before driving to see the Christmas lights. So thankful we found on yelp. From the minute you walk in it feels like home. We all had catfish. We'll be back to try more food.

So, we made a little drive this afternoon, up to Brownsville, to try a new restaurant (new to us). I had read about it on Facebook yesterday and it had really good remarks about how good the food was and the service, too. They were not wrong! Very good ribs, very meaty and no fat (on mine, Jimmy said he had one tiny piece on his), good smoke, good sauce, baked beans were mild and creamy, potato salad was not your typical "food service variety" that most places seem to serve these days, corn on the cob (full ear, not half) was good, and hubby said the fried okra was good, too. (I'll just have to take his word for that!). It's in a little house that they converted into the restaurant, right on the main highway through town. And the place was VERY CLEAN, a BIG PLUS, in my book!! The owners were the ones taking care of you ... seating you, taking the orders, bringing the food and checking on you to make sure everything was okay. Very friendly and welcoming! It was a very pleasant experience and we'll definitely go back again, for the ribs and to try other things on the menu! My husband even said, "you picked a good one this time!" (as sometimes my "let's try this new place" experiences aren't always a hit!) and that they were the best ribs he's had in a long, long time! Coming from him, that's high praise!! It's only a 35-40 minute drive from our house and was well worth it!! Go visit Mr. Baby Backs Restaurant in Brownsville and see for yourself!!

Wow! All around great place! Not only was the food delicious (the mac and cheese and pulled pork are must haves) but the owners were so kind. Also, this place is clean, like eat off the floor clean! I highly recommend Mr Baby Back when visiting this area.
