Located at 3 Campground Road, Linden, Tennessee, 37096, this park is 1,300 acres. It has a picnic pavilion, an archery range, a gazebo, two playgrounds, two volleyball courts, a basketball court, a baseball field, boat launches, campsites, fishing, swimming, and about twelve acres of hiking trails. It got its name from a mass exodus of rats that exited a building that caught on fire in the 1800s. The Eagle Point Trail Loop is 7.55 miles. The scenic trail is 2.2 miles. The Spring Creek Trail is .35 mile. The mountain bike trail is 3.65 miles.

I read all these reviews and all but one talk about how great the "Ranger" is, well my experience was not the best. Made me want to leave and If I didn't just put up my tent and have 3 children with me I would have. We got there and got the tent up and went to the fishing pier well there where people already on it so I stop just of it and pull down to the water (on rock/gravel aka NOT the GRASS - the water is real low right now) and we wasn't hurting anything or anyone and guess the Ranger had a power complex or something he made me move my vehicle back to a parking lot that was about 500ft back. If there a law that says you cannot drive your truck on a river bank I guess you need to haul me away. But the bigger issue was how he went about it, he was punk about it and just rude. I highly doubt we will come back.-First Time Visitor

Water views, walking trails, boating, fishing and fun.A clean park with great views from almost every camp site. The primitive camping area has sites at the edge of the water with grills, fire rings and picnic tables. At the end of the camping area is a nice picnic area over looking the river with tables and a great swing for watching the sun set over the river. The main park has power and water hookups with full bathrooms (primitive has a port a john) and hill top views of the woods. There is a swimming beach, large green areas and party pavilions. Come, relax and watch the river flow.

Mousetail is by far one of the best state parks in the outstanding Tennessee State Park system. It's not the biggest, but it has pretty much everything you need if you want to have a weekend enjoying the outdoors. There are plenty of trails to explore, offering beautiful scenery, amazing forested lands, some very cool overlooks, and even a few that you could turn into an overnight hike. The park campground is small, but nicely appointed for what it is. As for the person who gave the park 2 stars: I simply do not understand why you would give this great park such a low rating when you yourself said it was beautiful for hiking, tent camping, and kayaking. If you're going to drive such a monstrosity, I'd recommend doing some research to find out how you're going to get there, and I most certainly wouldn't complain that a rural state park in a hilly area requires you to go down some windy roads!

It's a small park on the Tennessee river...they have hiking, fishing, boat ramps.... Lady finger or just lady bluff us part of this park but separated by water. Almost Primative camp grounds on top of a huge hill...pavilions for reunions or weddings. Great state park.

NOT for big RV 's, Definitely not good for bide riding since the mountain it's on is way too steep. Had we known it was mostly for tents only we would have not stayed there. Their website directs you through the back roads on switchback narrow roads, and trust me in a 40' RV towing a jeep it wasn't fun! Beautiful for tent camping, hiking and Kayaking though.

Lovely well kept park, the rangers obviously take a pride in what they do. It is more like a boutique hotel for those in the know about camping. Bring your bike, there is a long track with an overnight shelter, bring your tent, bring your swimming costume, bring your canoe, but leave your big old RV at home, this is not for you.

Beautiful scenery with the BEST Ranger ever :)On Valentine's day this year, my husband and I took our dog out for a walk. I had purchased a new toy and cut it open with a pocket knife... cutting part of my finger tip... OUCH!!!!!!!!!We drove to the Ranger's office and he was SO helpful and kind. He spent several minutes looking high and low for the super glue my husband asked for and gave us bandages and tape, and cut up with my husband to lighten the mood. It was such a better experience than it could have been, had he not been there when we needed him! We'll be going back several times, but this time, my honey says NO KNIFE!! :)

Love this park. Quiet. Fairly remote. Fresh. Verizon service. It's a little steep for bikes. One of our favorites.
