Moon River Marina & Resort

Well they are back and having their soft opening which means a limited menu but they are working on it! We have the wings. It was a 12 pick order and came with fries which was a pleasant surprise. I was excited that they still have the "fry sauce'' with the fries. We also tried their pepperoni pizza. I love the brick oven taste and the way the cheese is hot and melted. Of course they have a great chef there and under his direction they should have major success. Service is great an always, everyone was very friendly. I hoped to meet the current management but he was busy just trying to get everything together. You just can't beat the view, it is so relaxing to sit outside and have lunch or dinner. And Saturday night music should be a big hit through the summer. All in all a good experience just needs some time to get it all right.

I stopped in for lunch today, my first visit since their remodeling. I thought the menu was a little limited but decided to try the grilled shrimp for $15.The 8 small-to-medium grilled shrimp were actually quite good, but the French fries were OBVIOUSLY old and reheated - crunchy to the point of on the edge of being burned.I finished lunch before the waitress returned and when I told her about the fries she assured me they were fresh. NOPE! No way - I know reheated fries when I taste them. And for $15 ($20 with ice tea), it definitely wasn't worth it. Hanging out for a beer, etc. would be OK but forget the menu.I won't be returning, and when friends and family come to visit we'll be passing on Moon River and go elsewhere.

We decided on Moon River Marina for our one dinner out while staying on Lake Barkley. Group of 7. We had a few apps. Wings, pickles, cheese sticks, and mushrooms. For dinner we had a variety. Salad, chicken sandwich chicken strips, and 3 of us had catfish. Everything was very tasty. We sat outside overlooking marina and lake. Very nice. Service was very good. Highly recommend if looking for a nice casual lakefront restaurant.

The food was good and they kept regular hours when others were closed. The onion rings are great and karaoke was fun on Friday night.

My family stopped in for lunch while we were having a day on Barkley Lake. I had the pulled pork, slaw and onion rings, my daughter and husband shared some wings, and a friend had chicken tenders and fries. It was all delicious! The pork and wings had a homemade unique BBQ sauce that was really good. They have daily specials, Friday night deals, and Sunday buffets. The service was friendly and attentive!My family will definitely be back.

They have never had everything listed on their menu available to order. Example is pizza they haven't had since they first opened. Also the management is clearly new at operating a restaurant, which I could be understanding about, but the owner verbally attacked us about something he completely misunderstood proving that he is in the wrong business. Save your money and go elsewhere!
