The Memphis Greek Fest was an adventure with this kind of like being our third time coming.. we enjoy every year, the shuttle bus picked us up at the Poplar Plaza (plenty of parking). 3 can goods for the Memphis Food Bank got us all in for free. (Bonus) The priest of the church welcomes your family and is very, very nice and kind. All of members are welcoming. My grandkids go there for extra credit for their school so they talk about the Greek festival, the city of origin... so it was a great adventure to receive extra credit and also go to have a fun time at this event. Also, the music was pleasing and people was dancing. An abundance of food was available... plenty of seating outside under the tent or inside where the food was. All of the dinners and desserts were very exclusive of Greece. There was several vendors on the property, selling jewelry, concessions and pottery. Even though it was raining this day, everybody showed up and had fun! We will return next year extra credit or not...!!!

It is true that I suffer from Hellenomania (obsession with Greece and the Greeks; also known as Graecomania). Greek food, culture, language, you name it - I love it.And maybe that is why I walked away a bit disappointed...I just kinda thought there would be more vendors and things to do...Don't get me wrong, I'm glad I went...but having spent a semester in Greece and just getting back from vacation there, I know how awesome everything Greek is...and this festival just seemed low key and small (then again, we are in Memphis soooo there's that). And granted, the weather this year was disgusting and the tents were flooding, but for the amount of people who come to this event...they should offer more entertainment and booths. Plus not everything there was Greek...which really confused me. Why were they at the Greek festival if their products are not Greek?I still go every year but here's hoping they make it bigger and better next year...

Grea fun! I have been in Memphis for about five or six of these and this was the first time that I was motivated (thanks to my better half) to go and fight the traffic and the crowd. I am glad I did and I will ensure to go to all future Greek Festivals that I am in town for. Tons of greek/mediterranin dishes, great live music, vendors and games. The Pizz with spinach, tomato and feta was great. I also had the pork kaboob that was delicious. This is a great event for the community.

Great food, great timeThe Memphis Greek Festival has been a long-standing tradition for many, many years - and for good reason - not the least of which is the great Greek Food. My friends and I have been many times in recent years and always enjoy the time together, as well as the food. Although there is a $3 admission fee, you can get in with 3 canned goods as a donation to the Memphis Food Bank. As for the meal, the amount of food you receive is well worth the $15 you spent. In case you'd like to have some delicious dessert for later, they just happen to have a large variety of Greek Pastries already boxed up. Mmmmm. So much tasty food!During our visit, as has occasionally been the case before, the rain tends to come when we go. It didn't dampen our spirits, just our clothes. As I understand it, most of the food is prepared by a large number of cooks, sometimes a month or more in advance. This only makes sense when you consider the number of meals, pastries, and other delicacies that have to be prepared for the large number of people that attend.Well, we all enjoyed our food today and didn't let a little bit of rain get in the way. If you have not been, try to come by this weekend. If you missed out, try to come next year. I know you will leave with a full tummy, but your scales may not appreciate it as much.

This is more of an eating festival than anything else - and the food is very good. The main food problem is that the lines are extremely long and chaotically unorganized at times. Also, i was expecting more booths with arts and crafts, but there were only 2 or 3 at most, mostly just selling cheap sovenir type items. There needs to be more vendors. Most of the festival area is comprised of tables at which to sit and eat. The parking is pretty bad. However, free shuttles operate to and from from Poplar Plaza and to/from St. Michael's Catholic Church.

Great family friendly festival! My parents brought us since we were kids and now we all come as idiot adults! Not the largest festival in the city but it has fun music, great food, adult drinks, and stuff for the kids all wrapped up in one. Come on out and get some Greek culture in Memphis!

This is my first time coming and this festival is really great. The food is awsome and they have great entertainment for the family. I mist admit this is the first time I came to a church and they sell alcohol.

This is more of a family friendly festival so bring the kids...a huge kid area with inflatable obstacle course, moon bounce and rock climbing wall. The food here is always so good there is a plate dinner they serve in the church but I prefer the food outside in the tent. Everything is reasonably priced about $5-$7 for each item. The people running all the booths and food tables are very friendly and helpful just very nice people running this whole thing. The must haves are the Greek pizza, flaming cheese and spanakopia! There were more vendors set up this year offering unique gifts and jewelry. Be sure to get there early gates close and 8:00!!

We are local regulars. The food is okay but it could be more organized. The food is mediocre because they precooked everything. They need to have better warmers to keep the food a little more hot. The food has gotten a little pricey for a nonprofit event. The menu needs to be changed to alternative Greek food as well. The setup has always been the same. They need to upgrade the event for people to enjoy something every year.
