I'm very saddened to report that the quality of Russian food at this store has significantly diminished. We drove 45 minutes to there today and the kielbasas, the fish and numerous other things were expired, rotting and slimy. I was so upset about the quality of everything. We came here to get Russian/ukrainain/Polish kielbasa and cheese and ended up leaving with canned pickles and some grains. A lot of the items on the shelves were expired too. Overall, things were in very very bad shape and it was disgusting. We will never be coming back here. I would rather get a flight from Memphis back to NYC and load my carry on up with Russian kielbasa and cheese and then fly back to Memphis and it would be cheaper and still fresher than the items at this store. I picked up a container of herring fish in the fridge today and it was covered in a layer of slime. Not oil. Slime. It was disgusting. Some kielbasas were super oxidized and being covered mold.Really really sad about this. The store itself is in a terrible and very unsafe area of Memphis nowadays and I was begging my husband to come with me here for days and we finally made it out here and to see this kind of quality is very upsetting. I was able to spread the word to the other Russian eaters in Memphis so that they pay attention to expiration dates.

It's a very nice store that sells Mediterranean and Russian food. They are well stocked on both and have items that are hard to find otherwise. It's not super clean but I guess you expect that from an ethnic store.

Stopped in because of the reviews here not knowing that most of these reviews are old. Most of the food here has gone, mostly bottled and canned goods. I did get some of the bread and hummus which was excellent and a pack of delicious dates. Sad to say its definitely not much of a grocery anymore.

Sipping on a mug of hot Arabic tea this chilly, Boston morning reminded me of this place:When I used to live in Memphis, I would drive by the Mediterranean Grocery on the way home from class. I was feeling a bit adventurous one day and decided to pop in to see what this place was all about. At first I felt a bit intimidated: immediately upon entering were about five or six guys sitting in the cafe area just kind of looking at me....I guess with curiosity? One of them gets up to greet me with a broad smile. I tell him that I had never been to this grocery and he proceeds to give me a tour! I ended up leaving with a can of sardines ("You must try, it's what we eat in my homeland!) and a box of Arabic ceylon tea ("You must drink, it's what we drink in my homeland!) They cafe does serve many Middle Eastern delights such as gyros, hummus, and baba ghanoush and various meat kabobs. And what great hospitality. I miss that place!

My folks have been going here since the 1990s. When I'm in town, my folks usually take me here to help them carry their groceries. There is an extensive selection of food items for middle eastern and south asian cooking. The main distinction between this ethnic foods grocery store and others is that they have a butcher on site. So if you have a particular cut you want, they go straight from the whole chicken (pre-killed and pre-gutted) to whatever cuts you want. The place is also convenient for students since it is very close to the University of Memphis.

They have fresh meats, vegetables...kinda. BOY! A little goat head, maybe? They have one hell of a selection of Halal and Mediterranean staples. Be aware some items are pricey. Do some research, or you may drop some coin on ingredients that will remain in the pantry for a decade for that one-time experiment. My absolute love and clincher for this 38111 anomaly...I could find fresh kidney! Offal Rules!

This store is a schmorgisborg of international treats! They have cheeses, canned food of all kinds, coffee, sweets, olive oil, veggies, bread, and even a deli! I've seen things at this place from the middle east all the way to Russia. I usually go there to get a specific middle-eastern cheese that I love. It's called Halloumi and it can be eaten as is sliced up with some tomatoes, basil, and olive oil, and it is one of the few cheeses on the planet that can be grilled! You heard right. Grilled. I highly recommend coming in here to check all this stuff out. It's always fun to try new things! So if you're feeling adventurous, pay this place a visit!
