Medal of Honor Park

A pretty lack luster park. There are blocks of burned out, abandoned apartments behind the park. The lake and trail are nice, but basic. While not that bad as a park, it pales in comparison to other options just 10-15 mins away.

Great place for a walk around a lake [about .83 miles all the way around]. There's a lot of green space and a lake - not much else. Upkeep can be spotty but on my recent visit the grass was cut and the area looked pretty clean.

I got up this morning to fish around the bank and it was very disappointing. The entire lake around the bank is covered with overgrown water plants about 8-10 feet out. Years ago I used to fish there and always had success. With the lack of maintenance the water is inaccessible unless you have a pair of waders. As mentioned above the park is great if you just walk around it. Parks and recreation needs to do a better job of maintaining this potentially wonderful gem of a lake.
