Was looking for a good Mexican spot while visiting Olive Branch. After seeing the reviews, thought we'd give Mama Rosa a try. Doesn't look like a Mexican spot from the outside. It's in a small shopping center and very bright on the inside. Upon entering, very modern and cute decor. The hostess was super sweet and immediately got us sat. Somehow we didn't get any silverware (just menus) but we were able to ask for it later. Our server was Kira. Friendly, gave wonderful recommendations and constantly checked on us throughout the evening. We decided on two of her food recommendations and then Rosita for cocktails. We also did queso. Our queso actually came out a bit cold and wasn't completely melted but she immediately took it back and it came out hot the next time. Our dishes were amazing! The shrimp were big, fresh and the cheese they use is different than other restaurants. The only thing I'd change is charging guests for chips and salsa and then for queso. We ordered chips and queso (no salsa) so it should have only been one charge. Granted it's only an additional 2 dollars so we didn't mention but was just weird to have two separate charges for that. We would definitely come back as the food was amazing, service was good and the staff was super welcoming!

If it wasn't for awful service, this would be a 5 star review. Our service with Forrest was awful. We had to order water 3xs, ask for a water refill, our drink order was wrong (house margaritas no salt were delivered with salt on the rim), our chips/salsa order didn't include the salsa we wanted and when we asked a 2nd time it was still wrong, 1 of the sides was wrong but more than all of that later, he had 3 tables and everything took FOREVER. Like 15 minutes from when we asked for the check until it was brought to the table (and then it was wrong, and took more time to get resolved even though we told him we were now in a hurry twice). The good stuff.... Everything by that came from the kitchen was great! Mama Rosa food was top-notch. We ordered the:- Salsa and chips - they have 4 salsa's to choose from but our 2 charge)- Carnitas Tacos with black beans (favorite)- Steak Fajita enchiladas (2nd choice)- Kristina Maria enchiladas (3rd but still very good)- large house margaritas Everyone loved their food - the Mexican rice was delivered instead on the beans and then we were charged for an extra side of beans... Men's bathroom stall wont lock, so we were prisoner until our server returned with the check and 1 in our group needed the bathroom. Please fix!!

In town for a conference and it was raining so I selected Mama Rosa based off Yelp reviews and how close it was to my hotel. Inside is not your typical Mexican restaurant. Decorated in a modern way, the only way you could tell it was Mexican were the sombreros at the hostess stand. It's decorated really nice, almost upscale, and it's bright inside. Service is good here. Only thing I didn't like is there are not complimentary chips and salsa. I ordered the Baja shrimp tacos. The shrimp were plentiful and plump and seasoned well. The slaw and crema were good too. I got the cilantro rice which I really liked. I'm not a big rice fan but I did enjoy this one. I enjoyed my meal and highly recommend this place despite the price of the meals.

This was a cold celebration day. This was a planned event. Plenty of space for our party of 8. The dining area is fresh, updated and clean. The staff were friendly and accommodating. Quick and very responsive. The salsa that comes to the table is an extra fee. We tried different items on the menu. Tacos were our fav. So if you are looking for upscale south of the border food. Try here.

We randomly stopped in and had no idea what to expect. Wonderful experience and would absolutely return (even though we don't live near Olive Branch). Decor is beautiful and fun, service was A+ in the bar. Menu has a lot of options and it was hard to decide but everything we had was perfect (drinks, salsa, tacos, lamb etc). There was no wait even thought it was a weekend, which is great but I hope more people stop in so that this restaurant can thrive.

We visited here for the first time on Friday for lunch and the food was okay, good but not great. The staff is very friendly and our server Forest was great too. He made some great recommendations. I liked the Chicken quesadillas but they are kind of greasy and wet and way too much meat. But still perfectly seasoned. I wasn't fun of the Birrias Tacos. The shells taste like corn tortillas and I dislike corn tortillas. They did remake them with flavor but still not to my liking. The meat doesn't have much flavor, so the concoction or sauce helps. We didn't have drinks this visit since we were here on a lunch break. But hopefully when we return we get to try the drinks and maybe tray a different dish. The Sweet Tea wasn't sweet but that wasn't a big deal since they had sweetener. The ambiance and decor is beautiful. Pretty colors, beautiful light fixtures and very spacious. Kind of gives me a vibrant Mexican theme. The inside is really pretty though. So if you are in the area I would give them a try. Some of the other tables meals looked really delicious (For instance the chicken rice) So I'll return to try that soon...

With visiting a small town it can be challenging to find restaurants outside of the standard chain. I was pleasantly surprised to find a new restaurant in the area. I am always down for Mexican food so it was a win win! This place was the cutest in design. The food was good but the espresso martini stole the show! I highly recommend checking out this place if you're in the area!

This is a relatively new place located where Wolf River Brisket used to be. We were seated right away, no waiting. We got chips and salsa which were good. Three of us had tacos, and one had a quesadilla. There were several items on the menu which looked good and interesting. It wasn't your normal fare, they had their own take on Mexican food. It was tastefully decorated and they had music playing but not too loudly. The Tacos Al Cabron said on the menu flour tortilla however it came with corn tortillas.

Tried out this new place. It acts as a kinda fancy Mexican. Cloth napkins and everything. It was pretty good; not great. I specifically ordered a taco that said it came with flour tortillas. Alas, it came with corn tortillas. And the corn tortillas completely disintegrated upon trying to eat. The three of us who got tacos were left with a plate of taco filling and little disintegrated pieces of corn tortillas. Also - and I am sounding like a stuck record here - but places have gotten sooooo expensive. This was not inexpensive Mexican. Three of us got tacos and the orders of tacos came with three tacos and the taco meals were $15+. So $5+ per taco?! Cloth napkins and candles don't raise the bar so much as to warrant the price tag. Four people and it was $72 before tip.
