Longtown Travel Center & Cafe

There was a handwritten sign indicating that, if your pants were not properly pulled up, you would not be welcomed inside. We were in need of a bio break and some snacks, so whatever historical precedent led to the handwritten sign was pushed aside and - being that we were not violating this tenant - ventured inside. The bathrooms were very dated but clean. The soap and towels were well stocked. The store itself offers a variety of the basics and, although a bit cluttered and disorganized, can be navigated in a timely manner. The check out area is packed with more tobacco products and lottery tickets I've ever seen - it looks like this is what draws the steady stream of local clientele. Adjacent to the check out was a fully stocked case of fried foods and sausage links. This seemed popular with the patrons in front of us in the line as three of four of them ordered food from there. In the back, there was a small restaurant buffet, but I hadn't seen anyone partake. The service was efficient and friendly.

Honestly forget the gas station, they have the best staff! I've never wrote a review about a gas station but man I loved the guy tonight who checked us out. He reallyLighted the mood and cheered us on as we played the coin pusher. Great guy. Average store made great by him! Also thank for the compliment on my tiedye shirt

This place is seriously a dump. I don't know why anyone would want to eat here. It's a Shell station but the diesel isn't a Shell product. Pay at the pump wasn't working and the diesel is on the big rig side. The bathrooms were disgusting, complete with "for a good time call.." graffiti on the bathroom walls and a cock ring dispenser on the wall. I doubt the floors have been mopped in the past 30 days and there was poo spattered all over the toilet tank. Just hold it and wait for the next exit. Gross!!

Restaurant is located in the back of the gas station/truck stop. Great place off the interstate to get a fresh burger (no frozen patties here) or hand breaded chicken strips. The country fried steak looked huge. Seriously. You could feed a family of 6 on that meal. Ranch wasn't homemade. Huge disappointment in my book but I got over it. Gas station area looks a little sketchy (complete with confederate flag dreamcatchers that line the wall for sale). No lie. It's a hot cluttered mess in there. The cafe isn't all that pretty to look at but it serves its purpose. Stay clear of the restrooms unless you like learning the local gossip on the stall walls - it's definitely there. Hole in the wall place with decent food and decent prices. We paid $20 for 2 to eat. No smoking inside but there are nifty little benches outside that double as an advertisement outlet for a local social security disabi lawyer. I found that entertaining but I digress. Small lot with about 40 truck spaces if you drive a semi. Oh and cool little historic marker close to the store if you are into that sort of thing. I am. Quit judging me.Happy travels. Stay safe.

I wish I could give negative stars. I got the buffet, which looked sad as it gets, but I'm tired and hungry I'd been on the road the last 11 hours. I paid $14 to be served mold infused tea, rotten cottage cheese, and spoiled collard greens and whatever other slop was in the meat grease looking pan. I couldn't eat half a plate or take more than the first sip of tea. Waitress watched and still charged me the full price of their rotten food. Absolutely disgusting a health inspector needs to shut that food poisoning place down. Sadly I'm not a mean guy so I left a $2 tip for her bringing me tea and dirty silverware. Only good for using the parking lot overnight.

Nasty old lady in restaurant wanted $6.00 to fill up my thermos, don't think so then complained about working that hard having to brew more for they restaurant customers, you can get better service and food from the people at the fuel desk. Stay out of the resturant.
