Great venue...and so nice to be outside and listening to "live" music again with real people around you!!!Event staff pleasant and efficient...no outside food or water allowed at this point...and they check! Seating currently is at half capacity...which is cool. Food trucks and 3 bars that i noticed (limited drink menu but covers the basics with one "speciality" drink)...event could benefit from a little more food truck variety in the cuisine-last night there were 3/4 "mexican variation"...nothing really "lite" plate... minimal if at all, veg or vegan. Soundcheck...we were "front row"...a little too close to really be a valid judge...it was great...but vocals sometimes got lost in the instruments from where i sat - not an accoustic critique at all so you know.Parking was the bomb...honestly, i was having heart palpitations driving over...been to these things before where you cannot get out sometimes until "everyone" leaves and its dark thirty and your car finally frees up...NOT the case here...beautifully executed...in and out was easy / breezy!! Music there has a hard stop at 9:30...its an enjoyable early summer evening of entertainment and fresh air...in "the garden". So plan ahead...Great Summer line-up, get your tickets today

Memphis Botanic Garden is already my top Memphis attraction (how strange is it we go to a city to see what it could look like without a city?)"Live at the Garden" is equally great! This was the first time attending a show. Dennis DeYoung of STYX fame (another Chicagoan, just gotta' say) put on an incredible show, made even better by the garden surroundings and fireworks. We purchased the "Lawn" tickets, a real bargain as large screens provide a great view. The sound system was high quality at comfortable levels. As you would expect, not a rowdy crowd. In my estimate most qualified for an AARP membership, not a bad thing though. These people are experts at living (you will likely see your dentist in the crowd for example) I always mocked whatever GM vehicle, road-tripping past me on the Interstate with a "hanging clothes bar" across the vacant back seat; then I got one, these people are GENIUSES! Apologies for the life experience tangent.Suuuuper laid back. Coolers full of snacks and adult beverages are welcome inside after an inspection. We went to Memphis' new Trader Joe's (finally) and loaded up on treats. If you have a cooler with wheels, or a wagon, bring it for the long walk. Folding chairs, blankets, insect repellent, sunscreen, some had little battery operated fans to stay cool.If you don't feel like carrying in food and drinks, vendors are on site to sell everything you need. Parking was free (check the maps re: the lot locations). TIP: Back into your parking space, makes it easier to get out, and farther is better, as you are nearer the exit. Hope to catch another show here! Approved!

So I'm clearly not from the area, but was psyched when my visit to Memphis was happening while Toby Keith was in town. Since the Botanic Garden is outside of the downtown area and a bit far from my hotel, we went back and forth on buying tickets. Since the concert venue is outdoors, I waited until the day of the concert to make sure the weather would corporate. A Lyft dropped us in the parking lot and we walked in. Some tips - where I'm from you can't bring anything inside a concert, even a water bottle, so imagine how surprised I was when people were carting in coolers and lawn chairs. All I had was a towel to sit on, making my viewing opportunities less than optimal. Travelers, take note of this. From most lawn seats, you can't see the stage, you can only see the performance from large screens that also block the view. This is due to the size, amount of guests and the ground being pretty flat. Basically, I paid $80 to see a performer on a screen. We grabbed a spot right in front of a sidewalk, which was great, but people constantly stopped to take phots, etc. which ruined the experience. There was event staff walking around but they were in more of an observation mode and never did anything to move the crowd along. Lawn space is on a first come first serve basis, so despite arriving early to try to get ok seats, these people were stealing our view. If you take an Uber/Lyft home, they can't pick you up in the lot and they force you to walk down an open road with no houses, stores, etc. It's a pretty frightening experience I wouldn't do again and I'll never admit to my parents (I'm 35, but still). BRING BUG SPRAY! I can't stress this enough. I brought mine but was still eaten alive.Overall, $80 is way too expensive for lawn seats with no view of the performer.

First time to attend an event at the garden!!Boy George and Culture Club were wonderful!!! The B 52's were ok just not my thing. LolGreat venue and the food we pre ordered was excellent!!Just wish that if you are going to have rules at a venue that they are enforced for everyone!!Such as smoking, no cameras etc. There were people all around us smoking and breaking out their big cameras but I guess the rules don't apply to them, and obviously the people with giant umbrellas and citronella candles. If you want to ban something it should be the countless wagons that we were run over with the whole night!Just sayingOther than that I enjoyed the show and would have loved to have brought my camera but then again "they aren't allowed"

Live at the Garden concerts are great. The parking lot departure is horrible. Total grid lock for over 1 hour for concert. We have now been in exit line 45 minutes for second concert and have not moved. It is awful.

I'm a laid back concert goer, there are less than 5 I've attended in my life where I haven't sat in my chair and just enjoyed the show. I say this because it affects my view of the experience here. There are three ways to enjoy concerts: The pit : standing room only by the stage Reserved seating: seats at tables behind the pit The lawn : general admission behind reserved seatingLast year I attended two concerts when a FB friend sold her tickets. This year we got season passes - for the lawn with all the fees it's $182 / person for the 5 concert series. Parking by the gate is $20 / concert or $75 for the season. Parking off Perkins is free. I like the lawn - you can bring your own refreshments, lawn chairs, coolers and blankets. But you can't really see the stage. They have a few screens up to project the stage, but not everywhere on the lawn can see these either, and they don't show the opening act on screen. It gets crowded, and you get to smell your neighbors bug spray. If you're looking for a typical concert experience than the lawn is not for you. If you like to chill / socialize with some good music in the background then it's for you. Food trucks are on site - crepe maker, fuel , and generic junk food. Hog wild has a tent and you can order food trays in advance. Restrooms are port o potties, in Memphis, in the middle of summer, eww! If its a sell out crowd or the time gets moved up it gets very crowded - like an hour in line to get in the gate at the Daughtry / Goo Goo Dolls concert. I'll give the benefit of the doubt lesson learned and this will not happen again. Most concerts start at 8:30pm and last for two hours including the opening act.

Concerts at the Garden are awesome! Wife and I saw Train last Friday and had a blast. Packed a cooler with beer, wine, cheese, crackers, cordless fan, deep woods OFF and lawn chairs. Can't imagine a better venue. Is it hot in the summer? Well, yes - suck it up buttercup and bring a fan! Much better than a stuffy stadium. If you see a band you like, just buy tickets and take advantage of the beautiful scenery, people and vibe.

Whaaat?! How am I first to review this? Live at the Garden is a summer concert series held at the Memphis Botanic Garden. Most people I know buy General Admission tickets (around $40) and sit on the lawn. This is where the party is at! The cool thing about these shows is that they allow you to bring food and beverages into the amphitheater. When I've gone, we pack up a cooler with some snacks and wine, and get ready to have a good time. You can bring chairs and blankets, as well. Views can sometimes be obstructed by trees, depending on where you sit. They also have big screens further away from the stage to help remedy this problem. Up front, there are tables you can purchase to sit at. I think a lot of times, businesses buy them as sponsorship, but don't quote me on that. In my opinion, the lawn is most of the fun. It's an awesome experience, and a definite to-do in Memphis.

Man, do I have mixed feelings about this series....On the plus side, the prices are low for your typical concert series, and it is cool that they have concerts held at the Botanic Gardens. They typically attract a pretty strong line-up and it is a good place to come with friends and loved ones to enjoy a relaxing evening. You're also allowed to bring your own food and drink. On the negative side, it is difficult to get a decent view of the stage, and things always seem disorganized at these events. There's also no guarantee you'll get a decent view of a screen either. There was also quite a slate of issues with the last concert I went to here, but on the plus side management reached out to me to figure out what exactly went wrong and seemed very attentive which was nice.I have a season pass for this season and there are three concerts to go; I'm hoping to see the cons get resolved before seasons end so I can confidently continue buying season passes, but time shall tell.
