Leigh Barbecue

Don't get the praise for this place. We got there at opening time and ordered two pulled pork sandwiches. Wanted some of their famous potato salad we had heard about, but they were out. Apparently they had some big catering order and were not attentive to the two of us or the 2-3 other people present. Sandwich was big, moist and with little flavor. Their sauce on the counter was little more than tabasco and tomato sauce. So been there tried that and won't be back.

Ok PLEASE read this review if you're considering eating here.First off I only went here because it was rated #3 in all of Kentucky. SPOILER. My blind uncle could make a better pork sandwich. After looking at their yelp, I had second thoughts but decided to go here because some idiot at TIME doesn't have taste buds. On the outside it looks like a hole in a hole in that wall. At this point I knew it was either boom or bust.I walked inside and the only seating was swivel stools around a three sided bar. Only two people were working. Probably the owner and maybe his son or someone he knows well. I will tell you they're very nice people but that's about all I can give this place for the pluses. The only meat options are Pork Shoulder, Chicken, and Ribs. Side options consist of Potato Salad and Chips (not homemade, the Lays brand chips). Meat has no smoke flavor or really any flavor. It was low cost but that's likely compensation for the food quality. I'd recommend going anywhere else, even to your estranged sister in law who lives with 37 cats. Or that other highly rated BBQ joint down the road. Your choice.

Was hoping for a great Western Kentucky BBQ hole in the wall and was disappointed- pork shoulder tasted liked boiled meat with a lot of gristle. We ordered two orders of potato salad - they one had one left and they only provided one fork - LOL - had to ask for second utensil. Save your appetite for elsewhere in an area with many local BBQ spots.

Leigh's has the best barbeque that exists. Located in slightly out-of the way Future City (1 mile west of Barkley Airport on old Hiway 60), it serves a menu of already-fell-off-the-bone tender barbeque with a vinegary/Tabasco sauce blend that can clear sinuses of even the most allergic! :-) The only downside is that they close early in the afternoon (or whenever they run out of meat, if that happens first, as it often does) and they close for vacation around several holidays, making my trips home to Kentucky barbeque-less.

Everything is absolutely delicious... very very good bbq .. great family owned business

We had chicken and pork today and it was some of the best we have ever eaten. It was moist, tender and delicious.

A very basic BBQ joint. There's only swivel bar stool seating. The meat was very good and the workers were friendly.
