The staples of a Mexican meal are the elements seldom discussed. Las Playitas killed it with their rice, beans and corn tortillas. The beans were properly spiced with onion, tons of black pepper and grease. They were perfect. Same with the rice. It was flavorful and had a nice chew. The tortillas on my enchiladas were fresh and had that perfect bite. The rest of the meal was average. The chicken in my enchiladas verdes was dry and flavorless. The tomatillo sauce was thin and bland. In fairness, they seem to cater to folks who stick to tacos and burritos.The service was great and the staff was friendly.Don't go expecting greatness and you won't be disappointed.

In town for the holidays From Austin, Texas and wanted some Mexican food the day after Christmas. They were open, score. First thing noticed was the non generic tables and Chairs. Next noticed was they had a full bar, in a dry county. Nice. Ordered the lunchtime beef fajitas and was amazed it was as good if not better than I can in Texas. Service was very friendly, prices on the lunch menu were appropriate and not overpriced with all the recent inflation. Iw
