I've wanted to eat at Lamberts for years. But always rushing up and down the interstate, I've never made the time. Today, we did and I'm glad.First, we did not know what to expect as far as the decor. It's pretty cool. They have lots of old advertisements, pictures, etc. and even a small game room. My personal favorite is the old advertisements.Yes, they really throw rolls clear across the restaurant. More importantly, the rolls are hot and fresh. And I love they come around with molasses and apple butter. Excellent.I had the barbecue pork steak. The steak was huge and flavored very well. It came with three sides and again they tasted great. The only room for improvement... The steak and the mashed potatoes could've been hotter. My wife had a veggie place. She liked everything on it. Especially the coleslaw and the carrots. The staff comes around with hot sliced potatoes that are flavored very well. They have Black Eyed Peas, ravioli and fresh okra all included, and all you can eat. It's pretty neat. The staff was friendly. The service was prompt. Another area for improvement, however is cleanliness. When my wife sat down, she sat directly into beans. It was quickly cleaned up. We'll be back. And I recommend it.

We've been to Lambert's several times, and we don't have to go back. The restaurant was dirty, even though we were there for dinner early. We got no pass arounds except for apple butter, Mac and tomatoes, and okra, which we had to ask for. Our food was fine, but it was not worth the hype. Our server was sweaty and had BO. Also, why are there no girls at allworking there? It was just a weird experience. So to sum it up: sweaty, stinky boys with macaroni and tomatoes. No thanks.

We got there for a very early dinner so we could miss the crowd. The throwed rolls were hot and fluffy. I ordered the chicken fried round steak with corn and cucumbers and onions. The steak could have been a little more crispy but the flavor was really good. The corn was creamy with a sweet corn flavor. Cucumbers and onions had the right ratio of all the things. The crew did a great job of making the rounds with the pass arounds. The fried okra was crispy and well seasoned. The fried potatoes were soo good but they were cold. Honestly, except for the rolls and okra, the temperature on everything could have been kicked up a good 50 degrees. As always, loved the decor. Lots of license plates and relics. Lots of historical newspaper articles.

This was a great experience! Stopped by here on the way home from St.Louis. We dined on a Sunday right when they opened at 10:30AM! There were already cars rolling in. We waited in the line for a short period of time to be seated at our table. We're were immediately greeted by our waitress, Tracy who took our drink orders! The cups these drinks came in were huge mug cups! We couldn't keep them but loved the thought! I got an Arnold Palmer which i always do when out to eat and this one was delish! Just enough sweetness and tartness from the lemonade! I loved it! They immediately started throwing warm rolls and the apple butter and molasses came in right after! The bread was so fresh and hot! They were huge! Can't believe i didn't get a pic of one alone but they were in fact so good! Don't do like my kids did and get full off rolls and soda before their entrees even came out lol! We placed our orders, i got there fried chicken plate with yams and macaroni and cheese! Tracy did let me know that macaroni and cheese was considered a special side so it was $5.50 extra for macaroni and cheese. The chicken was so fresh and the yams were good and sweet and paired great with the creamy macaroni and cheese which i was first suspect of because of the color! But it def surprised me! I ordered my little one a kids chicken plate with mashed pot and gravy and green beans! She loved it! It was a big meal as well if you ask me! She didn't finish most of it as she too was eating the rolls and sippin tea as we waited for the food! My other kids and husband all got the catfish plates! They said the fish wasn't as meaty (as they were expecting it to be like it is in Memphis) but they said the flavors were there. There are table sides being walked around that you can also get at no additional price. Ones, fried onion and potatoes, black eyed peas, macaroni salad..so many options! This was a great experience for me and my family and so glad i got to enjoy this. I've only been to this place one other time when i was about 7 in OH so it was like my first time going! Wound def stop by again if im ever on the area! The decor fit the restaurant and was filled with pictures and car tags. They also have a big game room towards the exit and a gift shop! This was a very cool place!

Lamberts is one of those often-reviewed places about which I couldn't possibly say anything new. From my modest perspective, I'll confirm that the staff is enthusiastic about making diners feel at home, and making sure that all the "pass arounds" (served family style, above and beyond your order) are regularly distributed. We spent about an hour here, enjoyed the atmosphere and filling comfort food, ate about half our meal, and took the rest home for later. I'd do it again, especially if I had a large crew and young ones to enjoy the throwed rolls, décor, and game room. Thanks, Lamberts, for a good visit.

Lunch with my spiritual family. I got the fried catfish meal. My catfish was so light and crispy and perfectly seasoned. I would definitely eat it to anyone visiting this restaurant. The fried okra is yummy as always and of course the hot rolls are simply wonderful! I enjoyed the fried potatoes and corn. The black eyed peas could use more seasonings, same with the greens. Just completely avoid the macaroni and tomatoes, ick! Will I visit again? Absolutely, but only when I'm already on a road trip and coming through the area. But if you haven't been, it's worth dodging a roll for.

Line up for more food than you can handle in one sitting. Did not have to wait very long to be seated. Didn't see many people without doggie bags on their way out. Fun , very casual setting. Reasonable prices for copious amounts of comfort food. Gotta love the food extras that keep on coming. Fun group of servers and very accommodating.

Throw me a Rollllll. That's what you hear as you enter into their restaurant.I've been visiting this original Sikeston Lamberts for over 20 years . My visit today found their menu and their prices about the same as the last time I came 5 years ago. That is amazing. Service is up and down with the size of the crowd but the food is really different and delicious. I come for the black eyed. Peas, macaroni and tomatoes, and everything else on the menu. Portions are huge and pass arounds are AYCE. Bring the family and enjoy the fun. The atmosphere is great and laid back. Give them a try and enjoy the Roll Calling! Get that apple butter too...

After several visits to the Foley AL Lambert's, it's Missouri forebear presented itself directly in our route to Lollapalooza. We stopped for dinner. Right off the bat you're treated to the best of what Lambert's offers: the throwed rolls. Catch one (literally) and put your choice of apple butter or molasses (two unusual spreads) and you're good. Same for the "passarounds" brought to the table by roving staff. At our table, the fried okra was a universal hit. For this reviewer, the fried onions and potatoes--in a swankier joint, they might be called "Lyonnaise"--were delicious. Others at the table either didn't eat onions or rated them "fine". The macaroni and tomatoes did not excite anyone at the table, including the avowed pasta lover who had really been looking forward to them. Was it a false memory from Foley, or were they just not as good? To her they tasted overly sweet. On to the main courses: the Lollapaloozians ("Chappel Roan!") split a chicken pot pie, while the reviewer and wife ordered country fried steak and fried chicken, respectively. The pot pie was judged by all to be a little too salty, but the crust and consistency of the innards were spot on. The country fried steak (not a typical choice from this reviewer) had the right combination of crust and gravy, but too mildly seasoned for a Louisiana boy. A little pepper helped. The fried chicken was unpleasantly dry to the point of disappointment. Thoroughly cooked, but just too dry. Sides were fine: the greens and potato salad were proper in good Southern form (is Sikeston still "Southern"?). Cold Chunky Applesauce was exactly as one would expect. Mashed potatoes were bland, but there was plenty of gravy and sauces to mask it. Overall the food was OK, and we'd put it at around three stars. We concur with other reviewers who found some fare to be overly salty. Add an extra star or two for some of the specialties, particularly the rolls, okra and potatoes and onions. On to ambiance, and hoo boy: As with the Foley property, you will walk into festooned spaces that make Cracker Barrel seem minimalist. It's a sit-down-with-menu and server (very friendly, in our case) experience, but with roving servers, some carrying pots of passarounds and others pushing a cart of (almost goes without mention) hot rolls thrown, sometimes at great distance. I'd give this five stars as it's a unique restaurant experience. This ain't Applebee's.
