Lake Tiak-O'khata

This is such a cute little resort spot! The rooms are not Ritz Carlton by any means and that's okay. The rooms are all clean and nicely kept. We have stayed in one of the cabins and mainly on the motel side. We always feel safe and have never had any issues there. I love the Sunday buffet that they have in their restaurant. The staff is always so nice and extremely accommodating. The view of the lake is why you stay here! It's so beautiful and there's a nice large area to sit and enjoy the water. They have water slides and activities in the summer. We love to relax and enjoy feeding the ducks and geese. This is a place where you can unplug and relax, and that is an amazing thing!

Enjoyed lunch there this week. Such a relaxing place to eat. We had the buffet and enjoyed it all!

We should have sat in the back at the tables in the bar area. I truly believe it would have been a whole different experience. Our waitress was rude from the start and only towards the end when she can tell we were not happy she tried being nice. The salad bar was good. My MIL and I split the steak special. My steak came out cooked right, hers looked like the butt end of the rib eye roll they sliced it off of. It was full of talon and didn't even look like a ribeye. Hers was supposed to have been medium rare. It was raw. She tried eating it but couldn't. We sent it back and she brought the same steak back cut off pieces and all and it was well done. The waitress was like oh well. It was their 50th wedding anniversary so to say it was disappointing was a understatement. I was visiting that weekend but they live there. Not sure if they will go back there anytime soon. I wouldn't.

We had breakfast here and I freaking loved this place. It was quaint and very throwback. Everyone was super helpful and nice. We would stay at the hotel. Seemed nice and our son enjoyed it.

Sunday buffet hits the spot. Friendly staff. Well maintained open space for crowds. Parking for elderly & handicapped needs updating as do restrooms! NOT ADA approved.

Bluebird Cabin was filthy and smelled I had to go to Walmart to get airfreshner, Clorex Wipes and Lysol spray. Couch tore cushions on sunporch and bed comforters filthy. We flew in from IL and rented a car booked cabin based on internet pictures . Complete false advertising. We were there from 8-31 - 9-4 . We were stuck I didn't complain because it was useless. The cabin bathrooms were disgusting the shower handles were mismatched. Toluene over ran and when rained water seeped up through bathroom floor tile

Stayed for two nights while visiting family in the area. Quiet, serene, lovely landscaping. The room was clean and comfortable with crisp linens on the very comfortable king bed. The restaurant was busy but the service was good. I had the buffet a couple of times during my stay and everything tasted really good. I was reared locally so this has been a favorite since it first opened in the 50's but has been continuously upgraded and improved - big TV, microwave, refrigerator coffee machine, ( unsecured) wi-fi and several USB charging ports!

Great food, happy workers, and a great vibe all around. The buffets are really good especially if you are into southern cooking.

I've come here very irregularly since the mid 1960s As we approached I was concerned that there were no current reviews. I'm fixing that. We had the lunch buffet. Everything was great. I'll make a point to return more often, not easy since I live 180 miles away!

The hospitality and services provided by the staff at Lake Tiak-O'Khata are always outstanding, however management and hotel staff recently proved how exceptional they really are. During our recent visit, we had a tragedy to occur and my family unexpectedly needed to extend our stay during the busy holiday weekend, at the Lake for one week. Recognizing the distress we were in during our time of grief and sorrow, management went above and beyond to find accommodations for my family exemplifying true southern hospitality.The staff at Lake Tiak- O'Khata is always professional, friendly and helpful, the food is delicious, and the rooms are very comfortable, and clean. This resort is simply amazing. I definitely recommend this hotel to everybody! It's a true sample of excellent hospitality where you are made to feel like family. Thank you once again for going over and beyond to make our stay comfortable, we cannot wait to return.
