La Michoacana Mexican Ice Cream

I love michoacanas as they have much better tasting, more natural flavors compared to your typical American ice cream parlors.La Michoacana offers a wide variety of fresh, natural flavor popsicles, ice cream, fruit, and more! I wanted to expand my parents' cultural horizons so I took them here on a random Saturday afternoon. We ordered a couple paletas and a medium serving of ice cream. My mom's coconut paleta tastes amazing - soft, rich in flavor and not too sweet. My dad had the pineapple ice cream, which for a medium was generously on the large side. Not too sweet and a little bit sour just like a real pineapple.My guava paleta was a bit on the hard size - perhaps a little too icy because of the lack of dairy. While the guava paleta was good not too sweet, it might have been a bit too natural as it was chunky and filled with many tooth-shattering seeds. I'd probably pass on it the next time. Overall, I'd defintely return and introduce this place to other gringos like myself.In typical fashion, I forgot to take a picture of my actual food. Everything I've eaten here is good. Also, their Pina colada is the best. It's a little on the sweet side but you can fix that with ice and it's so good when it's hot outside. Their ice-cream are Also delicious. Great customer service every time I go there with friends. Thank you.

I LOVE THIS PLACE! Yesterday I took a friend there. We both got a cappuccino pop!! AMAZING!!!The staff is so kind. The price was more than fair. This place is a must!

Love this ice cream place too it's not as close to home but stopped by while shopping at the mall. My favorite flavor was nuez it was served in a waffle cone.

Cute little ice cream shop in wolfchase galleria. I came in looking for something coconut flavored and icy- sampled the coconut ice cream and guava ice cream. All the ice creams are made on location, and it definitely makes a difference. The coconut had a small amount of little coconut shreds which I liked, and the guava ice cream really surprised me! Guava is not the easiest flavor to make into a fresh ice cream, but they do it well here. Nice guava flavor payoff without all the seeds and work involved in eating an actual guava. (If you haven't had guava, it's what bubblegum would be if it was a fruit). 1 scoop of ice cream here is $2.75. They also have chamoyadas and similar desserts. I'll try one of those next time! I'm doing 3 stars instead of 4 or 5 because I don't really like this location- it's not convenient because it's inside the mall, and I feel like la michoacana on summer avenue gives you more menu options.

My brother and his kids took me here after dinner. They serve a wide selection of ice creams, Mexican style paletas, agua fresca, and Mexican style street corn that is excellent. I'm so happy that Memphis has finally gotten something like this. If you visit the city, stop by and try it. To the management, I might suggest adding fresh cilantro as a topping on the elotes...please???
