La-Cabana Mexican Cantina & Grill

La Cabana! Every time I visit my Dad, I bring him here. My Dad knew the original owner decades back, he loves to tell his story of how he finished a whole picture of margarita cocktail to himself while chatting it up with the owner. I like the atmosphere of this restaurant, it is authentic and comfortable. The service is quick and pleasant. The food here is excellent! It's not americanized, Mexican food, but tasty meals just like what my Mom would cook. My issue would be the menus. There a bit busy and need to be modernized and simplified. This complaint is not enough to give them less than five stars, though. Because the food and drinks are scrumptious! Cruise by for some amazing Mexican food and drinks!

I mean, as far as Mexican food it'll do. Hot, fast, and the margaritas are great. The service is usually on point too

Was absolutely one of the best meals we have had in awhile! We both ordered fiesta fajitas and was very very pleased!! Servers were right on point and friendly.. we will be returning soon!!!!

I hate to ever give a place a 1 star but I have to be honest on why I am doing so. So here is an honest review: I'm from California so I realize my standards for Mexican food may be high; however, this has been talked about from many other people as well. Why do you guys freeze your salsa?? Who does that? No one Hispanic. Stop doing that. Salsa should not be cold when it arrives to the table. It's salsa, it's supposed to be spicy. Put salt on the chips. Also, the food us sub par. Just almost nothing is right. I had the chicken tacos and the second time I went, I got enchiladas & all was just off & cold in the center... they might be using a microwave to heat the food. I had to wait 22 minutes to be seated because there was no host/hostess in the front. My fiance noticed the staff was in one corner near the back, flirting around with each other or talking & not anyone working. It was a sad experience. I recommend No Way José, cause this place is terrible!

We chose this place due to the decent reviews, time of the day, and the fact that we are passing by through.Number one issue as we walked in the doors was that the place was dirty and dingy looking. It took several minutes for the hostess to seat us.Our waitress was exceptionally slow. Also, very rough looking. Tattoos all over her neck and she was smacking her gum as we ordered.Husband ordered steak fajitas. I got two tamales with rice and beans. Food wasn't very good. The steak reminded me a VERY thin strips of stir fry meat. My tamales were 98% breaded, hardly any meat.When the check was ready we waited 10 minutes for her to pickup the check. She looked at us three times but never came over. Finally we left cash.Overall, I would not go back. It wasn't terrible but nothing to were home about.

I stopped in for lunch here on my drive back to New Orleans. I had the enchiladas verdes which came with one chicken, one beef and one cheese enchilada with mild green chili sauce and a side salad. The food was fresh, not greasy at all (a big thing with me for Mexican food), and homemade. This was such a better option than stopping in a chain place. I recommend. Very good!

We had a party of 8. We were sitting there waiting for someone to take our order for at least 15 minutes. We all thought they'd forgotten about us. Finally, when the server came, I ordered a tossed salad and a water with lemon. The water smelled like bleach. Evidently you don't get to order dressing with your room temperature salad either. They didn't ask me what I wanted, they just threw a Ken's Ranch Dressing package on the table. The tossed salad was room temperature. Are you kidding me?! Do yourself a favor - don't waste your money. The salad was terrible but the service was worse!

Be careful when you order and you go pick it up and it's missing the meat for the steak fajitas you call them and tell them and they said yeah we put it in there but come back to the restaurant and show me you didn't get it how stupid can you get

The service is terrible. It was a busy night so my party of 5 was understanding and very patient. We were seated and after 25 minutes with no one even come by to take drink order we had to find a waitress and ask who I server was. After another 5-10 waitress came and took food a drink order. Food and drinks finally arrived. Order was missing items drinks were watered down. Waitress never came back to table. We sat at table needing refills waitress never came back . I found manager and expressed my displeasure with serve . I asked if we could get check as waitress had not been to table almost an hour ago since taking order. It was another 20 plus minutes and no check. This is the worst restaurant experience I have ever had. Terrible!!!!!!!!!

Have been going here forever, and on December 4, 2020 it has appears the salsa has changed. It is absolutely trash and has an unpleasant odor. It would be greatly appreciated if we could go back to the original one. Thanks, a beloved and devoted customer!!!Update:They hear their customers and they make the change!!! They are great workers and they satisfy their customers wants and needs! Thank y'all so much for changing it back!! Much love to y'all La-Cabana!!
