This is a place that only locals know about. It has the BEST foods but the amounts are limited so get there early. This week the specials are Nana's meatloaf ($5.00) Garlic mashed potatoes ($2.00) Green beans ($2.00) Cheddar Biscuit ($1.00) . There was also chicken strips and French fries. They have a regular menu but getting the special is really worth it! This cafe is very spacious and they have an outside patio. The prices are are so very reasonable and I personally think the serving sizes are large. This restaurant never disappoints!

Okay, I admittedly have been going to the Paducah School of Art and Design ALL semester and had no idea that this little gem was connected to it! I usually bring my own lunch, but forgot mine on Thursday and realized everyone had these little brown boxes full of yummy lunch. I asked my instructor where they were getting it from and he showed me the way to Kitchens! First off, WOW. SO GOOD. You walk in and make your choice off a chalkboard menu. They offer plenty of yummy options, a daily special, and vegetarian/vegan options, too! The service is great, everyone is so sweet and willing to chat. I ordered the turkey wrap with the pasta salad. I had to wait a little bit for my food, but it was very busy--and it was wildly worth it. You can sit inside the restaurant, outside on the patio, or take your lunch to go! I opted to sit outside on the pretty patio. On to the good stuff. The turkey wrap was delicious. I loved that the turkey itself is sliced very thin, like falling apart. I'm very picky about deli meats and this was prefect! The sauce on the wrap is different, but completely ties the turkey and fresh ingredients together for sort of an addicting punch! The pasta salad is one I've never had before. It's a tomato based pasta salad with yummy feta cheese, fresh tomatoes, and sliced green olives! A must try, for sure! I got to eat on this twice, the portions are wildly worth the price! Overall, I really enjoyed this yummy, friendly, well-priced, well-hidden gem here in Paducah, Kentucky's Art District. I would highly recommend to any locals looking for a fresh bite and to any out-of-towner looking to find out what Paducah is really all about!

Last day of travel so wanted to try something off the beaten path, and this certainly fit the bill. Would never have found it without yelp Different menu, fore sure Jim started with deviled eggs, said very tasty with bits of celery and sweet peppers, not your plain standard deviled eggs. I had the Cubano sandwich. Warm hickory smoked ham, house smoked pulled pork, Swiss cheese. Side of potato salad. Husband had the boiler room sliders with fries. The pulled pork in the Cubano was a little dry, but otherwise the sandwich was very good. The sliders came on homemade buns, were hot and tasty. The fries had some kind of seasoning that had a kick, to me the best part of the meal. All in all, very good.

My husband wanted to go to this place for lunch. I ordered the Nashville Hot Chicken. Big mistake. Skimpy on the fries... they were soggy and cold. The chicken was lukewarm and left a lot to be desired. The stale piece of toast under the chicken that soaked up all of the nasty grease from the chicken was the icing on the cake. No plans to try this place again any time soon.

Yes! It's good to see this place on Yelp! Good for Kitchens, good for Yelp, good for Paducah.I know the phrase "hidden gem" gets thrown around a lot, but I'm going to throw it again. You'd better duck. This is a lunch spot at the Paducah School of Art & Design. They have an assortment of sandwiches and a weekly special. The day that I went it was pretty busy and nearly full, but no wait for my meal because I got the weekly special. I had a pork loin with a barbecue-ish sauce they called "Queen City Sauce". It was good, not amazing. The side however, Charred Veggie Rice, was outstanding! Seriously. Great texture, a rich flavor, but not too heavy...it still felt like a side dish. Man, it was phenomenal. The pork, rice, and a drink was around $7, so that's fair. Great decor, as the entire school is in a renovated warehouse. There's a cute courtyard, but that will have to wait for warmer weather. Most of Paducah's best restaurants are only open for supper, so if you want a great lunch: here it is.

Paducah is trying to come up on the food scene. With places like Artisan Kitchen, The Frieght House and Kitchen's Cafe it is beginning. Typically you can only go out to the corporate run restaurants and Americanized ethnic places. There are also a few family run places here and there. Kitchen's Cafe is a place to go while in the Paducah area. My Hot Ham and Brie had a very tasty strawberry/Habanero jam on it. We will be back.

This is a hidden gem in Paducah. I found it thanks to friends letting me in on their secret. All of the food here is professionally prepared and it shows! I am a huge fan of the BBQ sliders, potato salad and last but not least the BBQ nachos! Kitchens Cafe also has a decent desert selection. They typically have weekly/daily specials. Their hours are limited so make sure to check that out before you trek over. You won't find food of this quality for such a low price anywhere else in Paducah. This is definitely one of my favorite lunch spots and it's located in the lower town arts district . The seating is ample and they do have some nice outdoor seating. If you're downtown for lunch and looking for great food at an awesome price, check Kitchens Cafe out.

YELP did not steer us wrong. We love finding great little local restaurants while on a road trip. Kitchens Cafe is a small local cafe with an industrial feel and outstanding, fresh-made food. We enjoyed the pork sliders with dill potato salad, creamy tomato soup, pimento deviled eggs, and soft yummy cookies for dessert. Well worth the time off the highway to this delightful cafe. Our maps app took us to a nearby parking lot behind the cafe, so don't give up if you don't see the door right away.
