Food: AMAZING! I went simple and got the avocado toast. It has hints of lemon and basil and the ciabatta bread was grilled and warm! Sooo tasty! The sriracha really was a nice flavor add.Drinks: We decided to purchase a bottle of Prosecco and we asked for all 3 mimosa juice mixers on the side to make our own mimosas. Highly recommend if you're going with friends to make it more cost effective and the drinks more boozy.Ambiance: STUNNING! Cutest decorations. There's outside seating and private rooms that I'd like to utilize next time I go. There was no wait time and it wasn't too loud like other restaurants at breakfast. Service: So kind, attentive, and patient! I'm not from the south but I felt like it was the epitome of southern hospitality. Our server was really great. It was great seeing the hotel and restaurant managers out and about and visible as well. Don't waste your time waiting 2+ hours for other breakfast and brunch restaurants. Head here instead!

I wanted to love this place but it was very mediocre. Ambiance of restaurant itself is great. Bar could def improve vibe. TVs were off and the bar scene looked closed. The hostess was a little clueless. The server was fine. The burger was terrible - so bad, beyond redemption. Friend had a salad she said was fine. Heard Sunday brunch is better. Maybe they'll get better...

Excellent new restaurant in the Oliver! Very well done. We're so glad they have one of the best chefs in Oxford. The service is very good and the decor is impressive. We will definitely be making this a weekly spot from now on.

The remodel at Oliver Hotel looks beautiful and it sounds like there are plans for a rooftop bar in the future. I came for brunch and had the special which was a lobster and goat cheese crepe and it was delicious. The service was excellent and a great overall experience. They have bunch mimosas and other good drink options. I hope to be back for a game day brunch soon!

Waited 1-1/2 hours for food delivered to table; got the standard "the kitchen is backed up" response; not even close to a full restaurant; pork chop was cold and majorly over cooked and quinoa not done; paid $3 for one small glass of sparkling water from a machine (NOT Perrier or San Pelligrino...did not have that); paid $11 for bread because that was at least hot; sent pork chop back and did not re-order because of the length of time it took to get the first order; one person did not receive their food at all; another's was cold; walked outside to leave and the smoke bucket was right as you exist and got a lung full of cigarette smoke. Poor server was embarrassed and mortified at how things went...tipped him...it was NOT his fault...this was a cluster from the beginning. Won't be back...they will make their money off unsuspecting visitors to Oxford!

Went to try this place out after a game. The service was terrible , lady bartender was extremely rude. For a bartender, customer service is the most important aspect of the job. The drinks and scenery were very enjoyable. Unfortunately I will not be coming back to this business .

Great service and flavor filled dishes. The restaurant is part of the Oliver Hotel. The couple next said they enjoyed their food order. Please make a reservation before coming.

We had a reservation for dinner for 4 adults at Kingswood Restaurant in the newly rebranded Oliver Hotel (Previously Chancellor's House) in Oxford on Friday November 24,2023.We wanted to try the newest restaurant in town. We had a guest from out of town come to visit Oxford for a family event and Thanksgiving. We thought it would be a good idea to take our guest to dinner at Kingswood. Our guest suffers from SEVERE, life threatening food allergies and we inquired if the Chef would be able to accommodate her needs. We provided a list of the allergens to avoid and we were assured our needs could be met. After this assurance I went ahead and made a reservation for 4 adults for (11/24/23) @ 6:30. When we arrived we were promptly shown to our table. Our server gave us menus and left us to decide what we would order from drinks. She took our drinks order and gave us some time to peruse the menu. Two of our party decided to have the potato soup and a baguette for their starters. One of our party decided to have the potato soup for an Entree. Our guest from out of town did not order a first course due to her allergies. She did have some sparkling water. The other members of our party had a glass of Chardonnay, a beer and a soda. After our table was cleared our server took the orders for our Entrees. The order included the previously mentioned potato soup and a baguette, the fish of the day (Red Fish) and some vegetables, an order of shrimp and vegetables. Our guest with the food allergies was informed that the kitchen could prepare a steak and some vegetables cooked as she requested in butter and seasoned with salt. All looked well and we were eager to get our food. After 30 minutes nothing had been brought to the table and we waited some more as the restaurant had other tables too and some of the tables were large parties. Some had come in before us, so understandably we had to wait our turn. After 45 minutes still no food or time-line of when we would be served dinner. After and hour wait for our entrees we requested to speak to the kitchen manager it turned out. She told us our order was delayed because it takes the kitchen about an hour to cook a steak...which we found hard to believe as we cook steak at home and it sure does not take that long at home on a NON-COMMERCIAL stove to cook a steak. If you cook a steak for an hour you might as well be eating charcoal...The kitchen manager told us she could not rush the kitchen and we just had to wait our turn...the other tables had already been served....but not us...We did not receive any complimentary drinks, or snacks...nothing. The kitchen manager was very rude when we asked if she could give us an estimate of how much longer it would be before we would be served. She just kept blaming us for the situation...We promptly decided to leave. Before leaving we asked for our bill and we paid almost $100.00 for two bowls of soup, two glasses of wine, a beer, a soda and a bottle of Sparkling water. Nothing was comped to compensate us for never getting our entrees. Nothing! We sure won't be back to Kingswood. There are other reviews on travel sites about the service and food at Kingswood. I agree that the food was exceptional..Exceptional in its abscence, the service was exceptional from our server as she did all she could to keep us happy, I will give her credit for that. The service from the kitchen manager was exceptional also...Exceptionally RUDE!!! I cannot comment on the food quality at the restaurant as I did not have any. I cannot comment on the quality of the sweets severed at the restaurant as we never had the opportunity to have any... I will surely NOT recommend your restaurant to any of my family or friends who are looking for a dinner suggestion.
