Kimble Fish

I love that they always have fish available. I've been to other fish markets where they close early because they run out. They have whole catfish, filets, steaks and even sell catfish tails for 6.59/lb. If you're looking for filets, ask for filets and not the strips. The strips are $2 cheaper but it's a different cut of fish (belly I think).Additionally, they have a cooked side where they will fry the fish for you.

Pretty good my husband goes Here a few times so please when you walk in go to the right not you're left you will be told to go to the other side by the cook negatively is it so hard to be nice she talked to the customer in front of Me like I'm not standing right here??well she needs to go to the other side Like I know where to go this is my first time even coming here but.... I'll let my husband go back next time food was fabulous not as pricey like I thought you can have them cook tour meal or you can take it home tour choice so that's a plus the cooks attitude please save it

Great fish market in South Memphis. Highly recommend the catfish filets cooked on site. Nice, big filets that are lightly battered and well seasoned. You get 3 filets and 2 sides for about $17-18. Worth the price for the size of the filets. Fresh fish to go as well if you plan to cook yourself.

There is always a line but if your like me and you like Buffalo Fish as well as catfish than this is your place! The cut it how you want it!

Since we were already on 3rd street, we decided to get fresh fish from this fish market. The parking lot is rather small and on a busy day, I dont know what to expect. This is a large building, cooked foods to the left and raw fish to the right. You would think they would have a sign stating that, NOPE! It was a lady repeating some instructions but she was either irritated or something. Her instructions were not complicated but the method of delivery needs adjustment. The fish market was cleaned and smelled appeasing. The prices were acceptable and considering this is fresh seafood, I have no complaints about price. I enjoyed my fresh fish, it taste great, didnt leave any odors in my car nor my home. The men cutting the fish and serving the customers on the raw seafood side, were pleasant and worked efficiently and kept everything moving.

I gave it Five stars because they cook good food and this place has been around such a long time. It's sort of a fixture off South Third street in Memphis, TN. If I had to choose a downside it's the fact the smell of raw fish is strong and pungent inside. The smell greeted me at the door. They have the seafood market right next to the retsaurant/cooking station and it's a bit off putting.Random....The last time I stopped by Kimble's was about 12 years ago. It was before i relocated to Dallas, TX. I ate a Catfish and spaghetti dinner. I was new to Memphis when I stopped by. I had never eaten catfish paired with Spaghetti before and it was a rather odd pairing. When I later moved to Dallas, TX i mentioned to several friends out there that in Memphis the folks ate their catfish often paired with spaghetti and the reactions were usually of disbelief. It was a strange pairing for many in Texas and they did not believe me so I will buy a plate and upload proof.. lol.

This was the best fish I ever tasted and it's always fresh and good customer service and they got good strawberry cake

Best fish market ever!!!I shop there all the time I highly recommend this place .We have been loyal customers for many, many, many years and will continue to be loyal customers for as long as they stay in business thanks for serving our family and our community no matter where I move this is our go to market we love you guys from the Young Family!!!

Always out of catfish filets try to put sway fish off for catfish beware.

Don't believe the hype!!! Absolutely TERRIBLE rude management. This place is a hit or miss, it was a waste of time and money for me.I purchased some catfish filets when I got home, I rinse/drained bagged the fish in freezer bags & put it in the freezer. Took it out and cook it a week later and it was not edible!!! After cooking the fish, it was dark brown bloody looking under the skin and it smelled HORRIBLE WORST experience EVER sickening!!!At this point I don't want to eat any fish period for now.I made an attempt the to talk to the manager over the phone about my concerns/experience. She told me that she could not take it back!That I should have put water in the freezer bags when I froze it.I tried to explain to her I didn't know to do that, and she hung the phone up on me!! I wasn't expecting my money back at least an apologize or listening ear to my concerns/experience.P.S. This place needs a disclaimer if fresh fish is not cooked immediately freeze it in water. NOBODY has money to waste!!!
