It's funny to read these reviews no matter HOW old they are, they still apply present day 2022. If you ALSO NOTICED those they say "they received excellent service regardless of how they were dressed" ask your self based on profile pictures and names what they ALL have in common....I'll wait. Fast forward to my personal experience, I make VERY good money and can shop with the best of them but I don't feel the need to shop every week or month for that matter for "higher end" items I purchase when necessary; however, my less than frequent activity at the store should NOT cause for the cold, less than stellar experience ANY HUMAN should receive. It amazes that in 2022 after a pandemic "we" still have to educate people on how to be kind TO EVERYONE. People have to stop judging books by the cover, last I checked I'm sure those sells persons don't make 6-figures. Your JOB is to SERVE, PLEASANTLY ANYONE that walks in the store and not your "weekly friends" or who think may be rich or a NBA wife/.Sickens me to my soul every time I go into this store...why DO I punish myself? Mainly because when I want something, I don't want the song and dance of waiting on shipping the chaos of UPS/FEDEX. I will be re-evaluating and save that 9.75% tax for trying to shop local.Maybe one day someone will read these reviews and attempt to be human and kind and change the unruly, disrespectful behavior that comes so natural these hired people. Must be a part of the application process. A simple, "Thank you for coming in, someone will be right with you" will go a LONG way!!! Even if is a $150 Tory Burch purchase like one of the ladies mentioned in there review.

While definitely on the high end of the retail spectrum in Memphis, their sales people offer the same excellent customer service to everyone. I love their girls' night out celebrations. I always run into friends I haven't seen in a while. I primarily shop during their semi annual sales, though I do go regularly for make-up. I love going in for special occasions to have my makeup done. I always feel beautiful after one of their professional make up artists has worked their magic on me. My annual birthday tradition is to check out their sale shoes and buy a pair of impractical shoes to admire for the upcoming year. I now have a whole closet devoted to my love for impractical shoes.

There's a security guard inside the store when you walk in the door. The reason being -- this posh women's clothing store carries top designers like Jarbo, J. Brand, Michael Kors, Stella McCartney, Elizabeth and James, Prada, and Diane von Furstenberg, to name a few.It's like a department store in layout, but smaller. I spotted a pair of red and white Prada wedges on their shoe sale rack for $171 -- not bad if you're familiar with that price tag. Also fell in love with a pair of brown Chloe heels, and I never considered myself one to covet shoes. Have your makeup done with Trish McEvoy cosmetics or sip a refreshment while you try on fine jewelry -- Joseph is a fine shopping experience.

Always a good score here at Joseph's ! The staff is super helpful & suggestive and there's always amazing new arrivals . I love all shoes and I've always had good luck with my sizes here ! Yasssssssssss

I never felt comfortable going into this store. I'm not exactly sure what the problem is, but I think it's because the salespeople seem to gush over customers they know, and I feel like an uninvited guest. They carry some designer clothes that are found in New York and other large cities, but the selection is not very large. I used to go to Joseph's to special order Stuart Weitzman shoes because I have a very narrow foot. One day the buyer told me Stuart Weitzman no longer makes super slim shoes because only elderly women buy narrow shoe sizes and the market is dying. I felt that comment was insulting, but more importantly, I found out it wasn't true. I now order my Stuart Weitzman shoes when I'm in another city or the New York store mails me their special order book for the upcoming season. My major point on this store is that they want to present themselves as offering high quality merchandise along with customized service. I don't find that to be true.

I walked around the shoe department for 20 minutes with no one acknowledging my existence. When I approached someone and asked for assistance, they turned and walked away. Save your money on sales tax and order from Zappos or call the boutique in New York. I ordered the same shoes at Zappos, saved on sales tax, and in the first 5 minutes on the site a chat box opened up asking if I needed help. Sad state of affairs when a computer site offers better service than actual people. Note to staff- Your job is to sell things, not act like entitled snobs.

I don't live in Memphis and Joseph's is always on my must visit list when I'm in town. The sales staff is always friendly and helpful. They have a diverse selection of shoes, handbags and clothing. However, I usually buy shoes, purses, and makeup here. Yes, the merchandise is high-end, but my shopping experiences have always been pleasant.

I purchased a pair of shoes from their boutique online, and could not be happier with my transaction. The heels I was in the market for in my specific size and color were literally sold out everywhere across the globe. I exhausted my search far and wide, until finding them at Joseph Stores online. They were matched at regular price with no additional mark up, they shipped out immediately, and arrived in perfect condition. I know we live in a world that can feel entirely too superficial at times, but there is also something that can feel quite special about receiving a gift for yourself you thought you'd never find. I couldn't be happier with my purchase, and will give my business to Joseph again in the future over the big realtors. I love supporting small, family owned business now more than ever, and will continue to buy fabulous shoes for myself. Thank you Philip for all your communication on timelines for shipping, and arrival, and going out of your way to insure the shoes arrived. I wish you and your business all the best, and I will be back again, you can count on it!

Oh if only I had a kazillion dollars (sigh). I would shop at Joseph all the time. But alas, browsing is about all I can afford to do at the ultra-swank, posh east Memphis boutique. But it is definitely a fun place to browse. Beautifully merchandised and heavily stocked with big name designers, you are sure to find your dream dress or the perfect pair of Christian Louboutins. The shoe department alone is worth a visit. The cosmetics counter is incredible as well, carrying lines like Trish McEvoy and Bobbi Brown and Erno Laslo. They will do free makeovers for you, and even offer you a glass of wine in the process. Joseph's is top of the line. There simply isn't another store like it in Memphis. Now, if only I had that kazillion dollars. :)

The customer service in this store sucks!! Whenever I go there to shop I feel like gum on the bottom of a shoe. The salespeople in this store are horrible. They make you feel like an outcast. They don't speak, don't look at you and definitely don't make any eye contact with brown skinned people. I would love to shop there more often but don't feel welcomed enough to spend my money there.I had a Natura Bisse facial scheduled there today and was told by Donna that my appointment was cancelled because they had so many people on the waiting list. They say that they did contact me several times, calls, text messages, etc. NO they did neither. So since they could not reach me they scheduled someone else in my space before the appointment even started. I am so upset because I have planned this facial for over a month. And was waiting to purchase my usual skin care products during my facial. This put the icing on the cake for me with this store and their racist sales staff. I recommend you do not shop there!!! Better yet my brown skinned sistas, just walk in the store and see what kind of vibes you get. Case closed!!
