Johnson Street Fish House

I was Visiting my childhood home in The Mississippi Delta from Orange County California, and Johnson Street fish was on my list of place that I have to get while I'm in the delta. The Catfish sandwich is a enough to satisfy my craving. I make sure I order a few for my family when I get back to the Alluvian Hotel, because they always want some too! They only take cash which was a slight issue for me because I and to find and ATM which isn't that easy in the area. But I found one and it was worth the hassle.

Love going here. Good food, reasonably priced. Really enjoy their sweet spaghetti too. Has been around for years.

Im from Memphis and heard so many great things about this place. I've been calling since 2:00 to place order and finally made it to place at 2:50 and was told they closed at 3. I'm really disappointed because ive been calling since 2pm and get there yall closed and wasn't answering phones AT ALL.

Fish fried in old grease, fries were fried in the fish grease, need to get a working phone. Not worth the time or bother.

Don't be put off by the "ambience" if you're passing through. Mississippi is a state that rewards the fearless. It may not look like much, but this place has the absolute BEST fried catfish you will ever eat! I stopped by because when in the Mississippi delta you have to have tamales and catfish. This place was open, convenient and had fried catfish. Wow! I stumbled into Heaven! I'm a little sad realizing I'll probably never be back in Greenwood and will thus never have fried catfish this good again. Johnson Street Fish has ruined me for life. I suspect locals already know about this place and go there but, if you're a traveler passing through, just go there! You can thank me later.
