Joann's Soul Food

I had there lasagna a few months ago and thought about it again today and had to have it! Joann's has been a staple in the Frayser community for a long time. They serve a wide variety of soul food throughout the week. So if you have a taste for chicken and dressing, lasagna, greens, etc. this is definitely a place to try. The service is pretty quick and they are familiar with a lot of their customers, so it's like a family experience as well. There is seating available if you want to sit in and dine. It's very clean and well kept. I will definitely be back. PS. Be sure to call in or either familiarize yourself with their weekly menu because they don't serve all dishes everyday.

It's been said the rougher the exterior of a restaurant the better the food. In that case it is true. I'm a frequent traveler to Memphis and Joann's is place that I go to every time I visit. Rather it's the baked chicken, butter roll which I ordered a pan of for Thanksgiving. Or the gizzard soup I know a first for me as well. The food and service is a 10. If you in search of a home cooked soul food meal and good peach cobbler this is the place. Side note they only accept cash.

Found this place on a whim while working in Frayser. Needless to say, we will DEFINITLY be going back! A little pricy BUT you get your money worth! VERY good food.
