If I could give negative stars, I would. There are so many terrible things about our experience here, but I'll start with the worst one. They sold us rotten meat. You read that right. We paid $35 for a slab of beef ribs that smelled of ROT at the first bite. I mean, it's like they pulled them out of the dumpster to put in our box. After that, we were too scared to eat the potato salad or coleslaw because if you sell rotten meat, there is no way you keep cold things at the appropriate temp. To start, we arrived at this wretched place after google suggested it for Memphis bbq while spent 1.5 hours in traffic because Memphis decided to close a major interstate for construction on a major travel day (eclipse).Upon our arrival at 8:57pm, we found the dining room closed. Upon inquiry, the man at the counter told us they were closing in 2 minutes. When I advised that Google (and their own door) indicated a later closing time, he said he didn't care what Google said. That should have been our first clue to find somewhere else to eat, but we didn't want to delay our travel any further as we had been on the road for 24+ hours already. My family ordered a slab of pork ribs, a slab of beef ribs, and a pound of brisket. EVERY SINGLE MEAT WAS BOILED. There was no indication of smoking anywhere, not in color nor flavor. The man indicated they did not sell the point end of the brisket, and that should have been our second red flag to leave. They only have 2 sauces, and both were bland. The fries had no seasoning, not even salt. My ten yo didn't even want them. The coleslaw was yellow. We wouldn't even try it after tasting the spoiled ribs. My family spent $95 on food that we could not even eat. If you will sell spoiled, rotten meat, you cannot be trusted. We left the entire meal there on their table like the trash it was. Truly disgusting. We couldn't even complain because the employees left right after handing us our food.The service was terrible. The food was terrible. Honestly, the entire city was terrible. So, I doubt I'll ever come back; but, if I do, I definitely would not come here.

Nothing fancy on the outside or the inside really but the star here is the smoked meat! If I could do smell a vision. You would be there in a heartbeat because it was mouthwatering upon entering. They have a good and varied menu and we chose a Pulled Pork Plate with potato salad and beans. We had the small plate and o think there must have been almost a half pound or more meat on there, the meat was so smokey and had the best flavor and the sauce was just sweet enough without being to sweet. The beans were loaded with meat and super delicious and so was the potato salad. The German Chocolate cake was light , airy and hot the sweet spot . Definitely worth the visit!!

Ordered the turkey sandwich. Not a great choice for me. Bread was stale, coleslaw nor turkey had no flavor. I would go again and try something else but that turkey sandwich needs some rejuvenating. I'll try again next week on my way back to Mississippi. I would have liked some smokiness in the turkey.

Update your hours of operation!I love Neely's BBQ, so I decided to make the drive there from Memphis to get a great meal. They were locked up tight and the door says closed Sunday. Please update Yelp and the Maps app. It will be a long time before I bother to come again.

This is my go-to barbecue. The barbecue spaghetti is my favorite food of all time. The service is great, friendly staff, and has the feel of those old time barbecue shops.

The Southaven location was unpleasantly disappointing!! This place has been around since the early 90's! Currently it is serving up southern semi friendly service that almost persuaded my decision to dine somewhere else! But the ease of parking, tidy & spacious seating somewhat made up for that. They have an A rating posted near their entrance (that deserves a star). Menu is reasonably priced. Portion sizes are okay. The pork sandwich with slaw and BBQ sauce on the side. Let's begin with their potato salad, which taste old & grocery store bought in bulk & their slaw wasn't that much better either. Next, the meat was smokeless, under seasoned & too dry! The BBQ spaghetti was not okay; the spaghetti had very little meat & was mushy. I would not go out of my way to revisit this particular location and only plan to dine again if there's no other option to satisfy my BBQ craving!!!

The customer service was excellent and that's why I'm giving it any stars at all. The food is flavorless. Heaped and drenched w/thick barbecue sauce. I had the chopped shoulder sandwich. The bun fell apart as soon as I took the 1st bite. I appreciate that there was plenty of meat but it makes for an entirely sloppy way to eat. I thought when they said coleslaw was on top it would be shredded slaw. No. It's like the chopped Cole slaw from KFC. My husband had a combination link and tip dinner. We stopped on the road heading home to Chicago. Needless to say it all went in the garbage can at the next gas stop. The girl behind the window was exceptionally pleasant!

Some of the most excellent barbcue I've ever tasted. I've heard so much about it from Friends & Food Network. I had to try it. I got the beef brisket & ribs being I like both types of barbcue. I was not disappointed as the ribs fell off the bone & the briskit was hot & juicy along with my sides which I also found excellent All properly seasoned hot and quick. All the other menu items also look excellent. I so want to try their smoked sausage & barbcue sandwich.The cashiers and staff made sure my dining experience at Neelys was an excellent one. I will be returning here again when I go to an event at the Landers Center. I would recommend this place to my friends & tourist coming into town for an event at the Landers Center or just visting the area.

Always the best BBQ in Memphis and a great value. First time at the Southhaven location, but been to the original location many times. Always great quality and quantity

The food was great, and the staff were friendly. Quick on/off from the Interstate without all the Memphis traffic.
