Who am I kidding? Best fried chicken in the country!I've been around the world and met 1,000 girls but no chicken sandwich is better than JP's on Poplar. And if you get a bucket of eight pieces? Forget about it!Service is always friendly though the speaker doesn't always work because then cicada's get jammed in the speakers and kicks up the connection.For the sides, you can't go wrong with buttered corn. I can't vouch for the red rice or the livers and giblets which I try to order but they always seem to be out.The sweet tea? On a very hot humid day that hits the spot but DaYum is it sweet!!!!Potato and gravy is great too but I mean how can you not get that right, right?Don't ask me about the burgers.. You don't buy Big Macs at a KFC do yah? Or buy a pizza at a Taco Bell either so I'm gonna plead the fifth.But if we're talking strictly chicken? That smiling chicken knew what he was doing when he made that recipe.

My new favorite chicken place! Their fried chickens and chicken livers were outstandingly delicious. Also love their sweet tea was--it was the best Great service every time. Thank you!

Very friendly staff, good food. What more could you ask for? The tenders with gravy is my go to!

I actually eaten here a few times. There's usually a line but they get those orders on in fairly quickly in the drive thru - So as far location it's Just a ride down poplar in the Kroger grocery store parking lot. I guess I've been too busy eating to leave a review LOL! Well here goes I would give a five star review however my order was missing THE BEST Gravy I've ever tasted and an order of fries. I always order fries for my toddler he loves fries! And I always get the gravy it is good on everything! I usually smother my chicken in that gravy and then dump the biscuits in that yummy gravy! Oh well maybe fries and gravy next time. The chicken and corn were both tasty.

I will give this restaurant 5 stars because they deserve it. The food is so delicious. As they are a fast food restaurant. But the customer service could be much better. Came to this location at 9:15 pm last night and as I drove up to the drive through. One of the workers that was walking from the trash area told me that they was close but the sign said 10:00pm. Hmmmmmm?

The chicken is good salt and pepper chicken but they are very slow and must cook made to order I've been in line 5 minutes and have yet to even get to the window I was only two cars back is this fast food just change your sign

Been twice now, both times food and service was outstanding! I've gotten the fried chicken dinner box both times and my only suggestion would be making the fries crispier and more seasoned. It's drive through/walk-up only so by the time I get home (5-10 min) fries are already soggy (and a little bland). That said chicken, biscuits, and gravy are on point.The chicken is 100x better than any fast food place like KFC but is not the best I've ever had. On par with Gus's in Memphis in my opinion, but not as good as Gus's in Knoxville or LA (only other ones I've been to). Basically you get fast food convenience/value but nice restaurant quality. And like I said, everyone's been super friendly.Thank you Jack Pirtle crew!

Service was awesome!! Didn't have any food left!! My family loves the chicken and biscuits gravy's the bomb!!!

Good chicken and the steak sandwich is a treat, but kind of messy. Worth the visit. I like the mashed potatoes and gravy!

Loved it but lately asin tonight horrible. Chicken overcooked and weird tast. Biscuits were not edible. So long Porters
