J3 Cajun Seafood

Was in town Craving Seafood Shrimp , Catfish so I looked on Yelp chose j3 Food was just okay Nothing to put on the Map Food Looks better than the Taste

Came here for one simple reason.....Crawfish!!!! Visiting from out of town, a good crawfish boil is always appreciated! J3 is pretty hidden away in Olive Branch, but having a local with me meant I was able to enjoy this restaurant, which I may not have found otherwise. There's multiple options when ordering your boil as you can select the type of seasoning, the level of heat and additional ingredients such as corn, potato, sausage and the like. I added some corn and potatoes which went perfectly with my crawfish; the flavor and spice was absolutely perfect and I finished the entire 3lbs easily! Staff were friendly and the prices were reasonable. Highly satisfied!!!

The food is always cooked fresh. The only issue is the boiled seafood bags can be a bit salty. Everything else is good.

This place is pretty tasty, but only if you order the right things as I have learned...Do not get the fried food. It is not anywhere near as good as the boiled seafood. My mother in law made that mistake this time after I warned her from my past experience. I didn't even take a pic of her plate because it looked like mine the first time. She didn't say anything, but she sure grabbed mine up as I offered them because I couldn't eat as much as they gave me.Don't get the "Fried Sausage and Cheese Plate". It sucks for what you get. Not worth the $8.00Do get the Oysters on the Half Shell though, they are giant plump masterpieces! It really sucks they don't offer them cooked in any way. Come on guys! You can cook them for me bro! Do order extra Boom Boom sauce with any meal! It is very good. It is almost worth a visit on its own.I do like their French fries though. They are frozen and I don't care. They are good...Lobster was "pretty good". Only 2 stars the wifey says... I don't think she asked for the right seasoning.Boiled Shrimp were fantastic, and for the price it was completely worth it! You can't buy shrimp this big at the store, season, cook them, and add the other stuff for what you pay here. All other items included in my bag (potato, sausage, and corn on the cob) were great! I ordered them with the "J3" seasoning which all of them mixed together. I asked for Medium spice and she talked me out of it and said it's too hot. I think I could have handled it. There is also Hot and BYB (Burn Your Booty), that's their description, not mine. [Who would want that?]I was unimpressed with my first visit. I held off writing a review until number two. I did not care for the breading that they used to coat the fish or shrimp at all. I ordered fried catfish and shrimp the first visit and watched a table of 8 devour boiled food while I ate mine angrily. I swore I wouldn't do it again fried. I am glad I waited and came back. Mine was awesome! I want to give a higher rating but there are to many things that just aren't that good on the menu.Glad to have someone in the area that knows how to cook seafood without frying it. I will be back!

Now after leaving New Orleans my wife wanted crab legs and she really enjoyed them.Me and the kid had fried chicken, shrimp and fish and we both left full.Really busy place too for a Sunday...

My friend and I visited J3's this past Friday. I've never been, so I didn't really know what to expect. The place itself is kind of cozy. It was pretty much a full house when we showed up(around 7ish), but we still got seated pretty much right away. Our waitress was very friendly and made sure we were okay the entire night. I ordered the Red Maine bag with J3 flavor and BYB (burn your booty) spice. To be honest, it was not very spicy at all. I ordered Cajun, medium spiced crawfish and those were actually spicier than my bag, which was surprising. We also ordered a basket of fries to split. It didn't take very long for our food to come out, and it was nice and hot. Overall, the food was pretty good. It wasn't just the best seafood I've ever tasted, but I can definitely see it being a place I visit again. I can say that I feel like we got enough for what we paid.

Stopped in after a long days drive to have dinner with a group of friends. We were all craving something seafood! It was a Monday night, the restaurant was slow and only a couple of people eating. The server was wonderful! She was inviting, friendly, and personable. She tried to strike up a conversation with us, which I appreciate. She was the only one working and I know she was working hard that night even though it was slow. We had a group of 7. The food was surprisingly good! They ran out of oysters though :( The seasoning was not too garlicky, or salty. And the price for the food was amazing!! I am from Arkansas, and to eat something like this back glen would've cost well over $100. I enjoyed eating here for the first time. The server was great. The food was great. And the price was great! If I ever need to stop in Memphis again, I'd come back!

Awesome new addition for the Southaven area for seafood.This is the same JJs that was near Hacks Crossing Rd in Memphis. I like this location alot better since its smaller and cozier. The food is pretty much just as good as the previous location. We come here for the crawfish of course and the J3's seasoning is on point with the owners special sauce. We usually have the J3 + Hot which is very flavorful and has a bit of a heat to it. I got the J3 Cajun Seafood bag which consisted of lobster, snow crab, king crab, and shrimp, It comes with corn, potato and sausage as well. Everything was seasoned just right. The staff was very friendly and our waiter was on top of everything. He changed out our trays we had for our shells like 3 times so it wouldn't overflow. I was very pleased with the service.Come and try J3 for yourself. If you love seafood and crawfish you won't be disappointed as they are the best seafood restaurant in MS!

Tried this restaurant today after reading my friends review. Learned I shouldn't get anything fried probably. Boiled bags sounded good. It's hard to find good seafood not being close to the sea shore. All in all it was a nice boiled bag of seafood with plenty of food, just wasn't my style you could say. Very very messy, I know most seafood is hands on. Crab was delicious, sausage, corn, and potatoes were good as well. The grainy seasoning wasn't as appetizing as well as the shrimp in Lemon pepper. Thought it'd be good but wasn't my cup of tea. I'm sure those who are up for the mess and hassle of seafood will get their fill.

I've driven past this place more times than I can count and always wanted to try it, but for one reason or another, never have.On a whim, I decided on trying it for a late lunch today. The decor is darker with reds and blacks and muted browns. Our server, Wanda was pleasant and efficient, not once letting our beverages sit unfilled and not bothering us with the usual "Can I get you anything?" You get from most servers in other establishment.The food, well, the food was enjoyed most thoroughly. It had enough spice and the flavors were lovely. I hurt myself trying to stuff it all in.I wouldn't say its a destination, but what it lacks in overall charm, it makes up for with a delicious blend of substance where it actually matters - food & service. 8/10 Will Return.
