This establishment is actually located at the southwest intersection of U.S. Highway 79 and U.S. Highway 70, within the unincorporated area of Shearerville, Arkansas (due south of I-40 Exit 265).They sell fishing tackle, and act as a convenience store and grill for the nearby Jenette, Arkansas community. As a common consequence for the convenience of the existence of rural stores, the prices for their merchandise are rather high. I do like supporting independent retailers, so I try to purchase things from small businesses that I might ordinarily buy from my normal grocery store.I once had them cook-up a cheeseburger for me, but was woefully disappointed that the chef was actively smoking a cigarette while making my food!* This was way too "old school" for me, and made for the disgusting ambiance of polluted indoor air.(* If you dislike cigarette smoking, I would instead recommend going elsewhere:Just over five miles west, on U.S. Highway 70 in Shell Lake, is Lakeside Grocery / Citgo gas station (I-40 Exit 260). There they make pizzas and sandwiches to order, carry liquor, are open later in the evening, sell gasoline/diesel fuel, and don't smoke tobacco inside of their building.)

Yummy cheeseburger! Friendly folks! We consider it a must stop when in the area. Sometimes we dine in. This time we called in for a take out since we were on a tight sy.

Really good burger and breakfast sandwich. All I've had so far. Old building with old plumbing but foods not old. You can watch them cook if you want. Open grill.

We had a really hard time finding this place. We were actually heading someplace else when we saw it under a different name. My husband and friend were hesitant. I just knew it had to be good. I got the jumbo burger and it was delicious. The french fries were good and the ice tea was also good. Great stop in the middle of nowhere. I did mention to the owner that it was hard to find on the GPS and he knew that was a problem. I'm glad we found it though.

Cheese burger still good. People real nice. A beautiful dog is in the eating area. However, they need to reel that dog in. The dog sits near you and wants/begs for your food. He will jump up and put his paws on bar or table. I don't appreciate that at all. I'm not anti dog but that was too much for me.Probably won't go back.

Just wandered onto this place by accident and it looked like the kind of place I love to find in my travels. Old store and kind of dark and dingy, just what you would expect from a bait shop. But an excellent cheeseburger was served on clean tables. The people in the store were a lot of fun as well. A little gem.

On May 15, 2015, I was traveling cross-country from New York on a Harley Trike when a violent thunderstorm sent me frantically looking for shelter and I happened upon the J&S Grocery and Grill. I couldn't have picked a better place to weather a 90 minute thunderstorm. What a magnificent place with delicious hamburgers the size of a Frisbee. The people that worked there and the customers at the lunch counter were as nice and friendly as you will ever find anywhere. Of all my wonderful memories on this 20 day trip this oasis was one of my top memories. I can't wait to go back there and highly recommend it.
